It looks over a Par-3 Hole at this very-playable Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course. You can sit with your beverages on the large lanai, without the sun beating on you, and watch the many golfers attempt to make the green over the lava. We have 2 comfortable loungers as well as a new bistro table with 4 swivel chairs. During the summertime should be the best time of the year to see the sun descend into the ocean from our lanai (and maybe see the "Green Flash"). In the winter, the sun sets further to South, so to get a full sunset, you can walk out onto the golf course at the end of the par 3 hole to view. There is only one step to enter, and three steps inside between the bedroom and living area (so essentially GROUND-LEVEL entry and above ground lanai). Pickleball and tennis are across the street with 2 lighted courts and are bookable for reservations. The nearly new Olympic-size pool plus a baby pool and showers/washrooms is across the street, with loungers and shady areas surrounding it.Of course, we are also looking for the prime beaches. Many of the most admired beaches are a short drive from our condo. We thoroughly enjoy snorkeling and lounging at Hapuna/Kukio/A-Bay/Mauna Lani/Mauna Kea (A-Bay is the closest at around 12 minute drive downhill and Hapuna is 19 minutes). Waikoloa Village has been expanding with many new restaurants and some of the most popular on Hawaii Island are located in the Village. The restaurants and KTA grocery/pharmacy is only a few minutes drive including wine and beer. Lastly, the Village is in an excellent location to explore island, since there are highways going in almost all directions (68 minute drive to Hilo, 35 min drive to Kona Airport, 26 min drive to Waimea). The Volcano Park is on the other side of the island, so is around 2.5 hours drive.We also have all of the necessities to enjoy the beaches: Cooler, Beach Chairs, Umbrella, Toys, Towels, and Snorkel Gear. You really just need your bathing suits and sunscreen. Kailana is a perfect couples retreat, featuring a one bed (King size), one bath unit, that will tantalize you with her sunset views at the end of the day making this the spot you want to call ‘home’ on the Big Island. Kailana has delighted visitors to the Waikoloa area for many years as a very successful vacation rental with a 4.9 Customer satisfaction rating on VRBO from over 120 Guest reviews.We recently purchased this slice of heaven from a very good friend of ours. We’ve enjoyed many stays here at Kailana over the years. Every time we visited the Big Island we fell under the spell of its beautiful views.Kailana features a single bedroom, well-appointed bathroom, washer and dryer, a stocked kitchen, a relaxing great room, and views to beautiful sunsets. Included in the primary bedroom closet is a luxury twin mattress that can be placed on the living room floor if you have a child with you. The outside Lanai is accessed by a sliding glass door that takes you out to a view that faces west towards the Ocean and the best sunsets on the Big Island! Outside on the lanai are two lounge chaises and a dining table with 4 chairs. In addition to these amenities, Kailani also has a “smart” television, full Wi-Fi service along with a closet full of beach goodies such as towels, mats, boogie boards, coolers etc. Fun activity amenities include a full-size pool and tennis courts across the street for your use (no charge) and the Golf Course that you look out to through your condo windows is available with reduced fees (half price) as you would be our guests. You are also 5 minutes away from amenities such as groceries, restaurants and gasoline.The kitchen includes two refrigerators, one brand new full size and the other a mini fridge (turn it on if you wish to use it) to store your sodas, beers etc. The kitchen also features a brand-new stove/cooktop, brand new dishwasher, toaster oven, brand new coffee maker, brand new toaster along with a brand new blender. There is an array of cooking utensils, pots and pans. All major appliances have been recently replaced in May of 2023. All the kitchen countertops are granite. The King size bed and pillows were recently replaced as were the new linens and towels for the bedroom, bath, and kitchen.The furniture in the great room is made of tropical hardwood and the seating is upholstered with leather. The entire interior was recently painted, and the interior décor is styled in a relaxing Asian theme. Parking is available with a designated “F211” parking spot in the condo parking lot or, (as we do) park right in front of the condo on the street.Many beaches and luxury hotels are within a 15 minute to a one-half hour drive from the condo. Some of our favorite beaches are Mauna Kea Beach, 49 Black Sand Beach, Puako, Beach 69, Hapuna and many others…As part of our gratitude for choosing Kailana to be your retreat, we will gift you with a print of a Humpback whale breaching in the beautiful Hawaiian waters taken by Lance Kinney, a multi-awarded professional photographer. We have been busy updating the condo to provide a comfortable, yet luxurious experience for our guests. We have just updated kitchen appliances- all stainless steel. We have replaced all the glassware, flatware, dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen necessities. We have toaster, coffee maker, grinder and other essentials. We also just upgraded all the linens throughout the condo. We purchased luxury sheets and bedding sets from Tommy Bahama. We updated the living room with a new large television, power recliner, updated sofa sleeper, etc. We just replaced the king bed in master. We try to keep the condo updated and comfortable for our guests. We want you to have an amazing experience!The maximum condo occupancy is 6- per condo association rules. We provide a king size bed in the master, two twin size beds in the guest room and a new sofa sleeper. Fairway Villas is a community and not a hotel. We love that the association has guidelines to help make this a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy. It is not a place to stay if you want to have parties or smoke on property. Many people call this home and the Association has some rules and they impose fines (and can evict with no refund for repeat offenses) for anyone who does not follow the guidelines (these are not under our control)- the main ones are: No smoking or vaping anywhere on property. Quiet Hours are from 10pm to 8am daily.No more than 6 people. You are allowed 2 visitors and the use of a single "visitor" space in addition to the one assigned parking space.This is not a "party place", but it is a great place for those who want to enjoy a beautiful community with resort amenities and beautiful garden-like paradise.My husband Brennan and I live in Hilo with our daughter. We love everything about the Big Island and would be happy to give you recommendations and any info we can to help you plan a wonderful vacation. There are 11 climates here and there are so many special things to do. If you like golf, we provide Gold Membership discounts at Waikoloa Golf. Just let us know and we will add your name so you can access this. There are also 5 star golf courses all around.If you want some beach time, there are several beautiful beaches. The closest is Anaehoomalu (A-Bay) - which is short walk from the hotel. We provide the essentials- snorkeling set, boogie boards, chairs, etc. and if you want to paddleboard, kayak, rent loungers with umbrellas there is a place to do so on the beach for a fee. We allow all of our guests to use these and if you buy something for the beach and want to leave it for others to use after you leave, you are welcome to do so. We have accumulated a really nice collection of everything you will need for a fun day at the beach. We only ask that you clean these items off and return them to where you found them so others can enjoy. The boogie boards are located outside on the lanai storage- no lock on the door, just pull it forward with the handle. The rest of the items are located in the guest bedroom closet.If you want something more local- Spencer Beach is our favorite. Hapuna Beach is about 2-3 miles and is in front of the spectacular Mauna Kea Hotel--built by Rockefeller and worth a stroll.... it is amazing. If you want to see all of the island we can let you know some of our favorite places- Volcano, Rain Forest, Exotic Fruit farm (fruit, nuts and coffee), Waterfalls, Star Gazing at Mauna Kea Observatory which is the best view of the galaxy I have ever seen (Lowell in Flagstaff is #2). For those who want to see the island by air- Blue Hawaii Helicopters are located just outside the main entrance of Waikoloa.If you want to shop and dine- you are about .10 mile walk away from Kings' and Queens Marketplace. Great retail stores, restaurants, gourmet grocery store, Starbucks, Dairy Queen, etc. Very convenient and beautiful path directly from condo. If you want to see the Petroglyphs, put on some sturdy shoes and it is just outside the condo entrance. The Marriott resort is across the street as well. The Hilton and swimming with Dolphin's is just down the street. If you plan to BBQ- there is a great BBQ area right by the pool. We have everything you need as far as platters, tongs, etc. Many people go to Costco as they arrive as it is close to the airport. As you know, Costco sells only large things- so many of our past guests leave items behind to share with future guests. We leave all non-perishable items in the cupboards and fridge. Please note that this is intentional and meant to pay it forward. You are welcome to buy your own, but please leave these items for other guests to use. Same for items that we have in the bathrooms. Many leave sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner, etc. under the sinks in both bathrooms. Please help yourself to anything you find. We do not supply shampoo, conditioner and shower wash but we do provide soap in both bathrooms. So many people have a particular kind of these items so we have found it is easier for all to have you just bring what you like to use.We are located very close to the infinity edge pool and spa which has a beautiful pool lounge area with chairs and umbrellas. This is next to the BBQ area as well as the well-equipped fitness center at Fairway Villas. The building has an elevator so it is very easy access.We do have a washer/dryer unit in the condo, however, due to allergies and preferences, we do not supply any laundry soap. Please bring some or you can easily purchase this at the grocery store at Queen's Marketplace.Hopefully this gives you some info on the condo.
