After 5+ years of travel through 50+ countries, I found Playa Ocean Park so special that I decided to set up shop. It's my favorite neighborhood of San Juan, where you can watch kitesurfers in the ocean out front while enjoying a free concert in the park out back.This condo is clean and freshly renovated with strong AC, fast WiFi, a workspace with amazing view, a new TV and a half kitchen. It has a Queen bed and a Futon Sofa (which can sleep two more people). It's intentionally minimalist and clutter-free, but it has all the essentials - just pack your clothes and toothbrush.We are a 0 min walk to the beach (the lobby front door gets sandy, so can enter through the back parking lot).Down the street (3-5 mins walk) begins a strip of cafes/coworks, restaurants, and hotels. I'm also a big techie, so I've upgraded the unit with lots of fun SmartHome features and gadgets like Amazon Echos (Alexa), Smart Lighting, Nespresso machine, UPS Power Backup with 6-8 hour backup battery (for the occasional power outage, this IS Puerto Rico, people!). I've also included mosquito repellant and a bug light for your stay. This is a tropical island, so remember there may be the occasional bug! I keep the place very tidy for both myself and guests, so please be sure to clean up after yourself and keep food/crumbs in the kitchen and front common area (dining/living room, etc.).Guest accessYou have full access to the apartment. Never super busy unless a holiday. Great for snorkeling, swimming as well as for kids as it is protected from large waves. However, surfers swim out for some great waves here at what is called La Ocho (there is a surf shop about a block away for board rentals).-------------------------------------------------------Guest accessThe building features 24-hour security, indoor parking (1 parking space included in the booking), 3 elevators, a business center, and a gym (temporarily closed).Uber's are very accessible to and from the airport and to and from pretty much everywhere around San Juan.Other things to noteAll the technology you could want:- 500mb download fiber internet- 3x Smart TV's- Sonos stereo-Zoned central air conditioning (1 unit for master bedroom + 1 for living room area) - can be controlled separately with Nest ThermostatsAppliances:- Dishwasher- In-unit washer/dryerBONUS FEATURES:- Beach chairs- Use of cooler for the beach------------------------------------------- We can not accommodate more than 4 guests in the unit. Security will check identification upon arrival of all guests and if a person is not approved within the booking, they will be unable to be let up to the unit.- It is common in Puerto Rico that groups of vehicles travel together and play loud music around the Island. While its not likely to disrupt your stay, there is a small chance it happens from time to time (especially during elections, protests or large events)- There is common street noise from traffic passing by (sometimes groups of motorcycles that ride around town). We are located on the 8th floor, so it is limited, but some light sleepers have mentioned it.- We have blackout curtains/shades in both bedrooms. While this blocks out 95-99% of the light, there may some a small amount of light that comes through on the sides. But it is very limited.- We have 2 A/C units located in the unit. One for the master bedroom and one for the living room area and second bedroom. The building (including the A/C units) are less than 10 years old and serviced regularly. Some light sleeper guests have stated it can be loud for them. However, most of the time, the A/C is not needed in the evening so we recommend keeping it off and/or running the A/C prior to going to bed to cool the room.- We have a very high occupancy rate, so we are typically unable to accommodate early check-ins so plan your arrival accordingly. If you need recommendations on where to spend time prior to check-in, please let us know and we are happy to help!- We have temperature locks on the thermostats. You are able to control the temperature between 70-85 degrees. We have found that is more than enough for guests to be comfortable.- Hurricane/storm locks are on all windows and remained locked for guest safety.------------------------------------------WHAT WE PROVIDETo help you prepare and plan accordingly, we provide the following in unit- 3x rolls of toilet paper- 1x roll of paper towel- 1x dish sponge- 2x laundry pods- 2x dishwasher pods- Unlimited garbage bags- hand soap- 4 bath towels- 4 beach towels- 2 hand towels- 1x shampoo/conditioner in each bathroom- 1x body soap in each bathroomEach bed has 1 fitted sheet, 1 top sheet and a duvet cover.
