Baycrest Lodge

We stayed at the private Augustine Lodge, just down the road, and never visited the main lodge. Five stars because this place is exactly what it promises to be. Charming and rustic with touches of luxury, a clean and comfortable cabin, well cared for throughout. The Alpen Glow products alone are enough to make me want to come back! The view over the bay was stunning. Some foliage has grown up and slightly obstructs it, but the sweeping panorama is still there. We didn’t realize until we arrived that Augustine is the sleeping volcano nearby, easily seen from the porch, every thing is better with binoculars. Sterling highway is close, and while cars are noticeable when you are outside, we never heard them at night and it didn’t bother us. It was just as expected, so five stars not because it was the ultimate intimate private escape, but because it was presented honestly and delivered exactly what was promised. Homer in this season was what hoped for! Very little open, no tourists or crowds, and no lines anywhere. A tradeoff we always welcome. Overall, a perfect couples cabin getaway.

We spent three outstanding nights in Little Lupine and loved it so much we returned for another night before leaving the Kenai Peninsula. Seamless check in to a very clean, spacious, well appointed unit. Little Lupine is very comfortable, the views are amazing and the amenities plentiful, such as the hot tub, sauna, fire pit, swing, excellent kitchen appliances, washer and dryer. The unit is quiet yet close to all that Homer has to offer. The owners/staff are very responsive. This is very high on our list of places where we would definitely return.

We loved our stay! The views were amazing and the cabins felt very private. The hot tubs were fantastic. The only thing I thought could improve the space is to supply suitcase holders and more hangers since our cabins (alder and fireweed) had very limited space to put clothes.

This little cliff side cottage was perfect for our stay outside of Homer. It has a beautiful view of the Homer Spit and the tide comes in and out offering a variety of sea creatures. Through the telescope you can see many otters and ships out at sea. The cottage was well stocked and the surprise was the hot tub with the amazing view. We loved our stay, it was our favorite accommodations for our entire trip.

Baycrest Lodge was recommended by my brother who had rented the big house there at least once and absolutely raved about the property. Being highly picky myself, I was skeptical that it would live up to expectations. It did! We were impressed with the spaciousness (we stayed in Alder), cleanliness, and the fact that the owners had thought of absolutely everything a guest might need during the stay. The view is stunning. The kitchen and all its supplies were spotless. It was great to have an extra half bath. The hot tub was amazing and easy to use. The cards for use at BB's for breakfast allowed us to order plenty to eat, and the food was fantastic. A small glitch was a loss of hot water after a day of hiking and right before a dinner reservation, but the owner came pretty quickly and got it back up and running. (Apparently not a common problem, I was assured, and indeed we had not had any issues up until the second evening.) We would highly recommend the property for a stay in Homer!

Baycrest Lodge has great views and the cabin was just what we needed. Just a short drive to town and the harbor. Would stay here again.
