Villas Caracol

A very nice hotel on a quiet stretch of beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were both sensational. Very nice, large, and modern rooms. All in all, a definite recommendation. If I were to travel to Holbox, I would definitely book this hotel. Great!

We were recommended this hotel and wow, it exceeded expectations. Boutique size, wonderful comfortable rooms, amazing hospitality and fantastic amenities. Loved lying by the pool, our kids loved the pool bar for “mocktails” and we would return without hesitation. The beach out the front is phenomenal!

We just returned from our daughter's wedding that was held at Villas Caracol, Holbox Island, Mexico. We had a great time. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, well maintained with excellent food and has a great staff. I highly recommend this hotel for either a vacation or to hold an event. The hotel staff was particularly impressive. All are professional, helpful and personable. They were the difference between having a good event / vacation and having a great time. I'd like to thank them all for their professionalism and hard work.

Stunning place, and the team running it are just wonderful. Classy, zen, and with a wonderful pool bar, breakfast and restaurant. Nature envelopes it.

Very comfortable room and charming ambiance for a small hotel. All of the employees were wonderful and the swim up bar made the best drinks! Having a (good) restaurant on site was very convenient and the included breakfast came with coffee, juice and anything from the breakfast menu. It is one of the farthest hotels up the beach from town, but only takes about 15-20 minutes to walk. We ended up in "The Superior Mangle Suite" after a free upgrade from a poolside room with two queens. After seeing the rooms in person, I think any room on the pool/beach view side would have been preferable. Beware of aggressive raccoons! They can open sliding glass doors to enter your room! Keep it locked. We had an early departure one morning before the restaurant was open, and they thoughtfully packed us "to-go" lunches for our trip home. It was a great stay and we would recommend it.

Upfront, you need to know what an incredible Team they have. We have stayed there three out of the last four years and have never been disappointed. Several of the staff are still there from our first visit. Beto, Mariela and Daniela were there for our first visit and continue to provide exemplary service. Franco and Adael the last two times—five stars. And, the night “security” who was more like a concierge/bellman as we sat on the beach star watching most nights. In the end, there’s a big reason I know their names. What a Team! Cons: Difficult to come up with any unless you were wanting a Spring Break environment Because it is so small, an ill behaved family could have a large negative impact. (Our third time and the worst we’ve experienced is some fairly loud adolescents in the morning who traveled with their loving family—mostly well behaved though.) Water pressure better than many American hotels but less than what we are used to at home. Shower is a bit cold during peak morning hours. Raccoons—keep your guard up and follow the posted signage.
