Pondoro Game Lodge

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Pondoro Lodge and WOW WOW! It was my husbands first time in Africa and on safari and it did not disappoint! The owners have thought of every tiny detail to make it perfect and extremely relaxing. The game drives (morning one at 5.30am and evening one at 4pm, each around 4 hours long) are SO enjoyable and go so quickly, again made very relaxed and enjoyable with their amazingly friendly staff. We saw the big 5 in our three day stay at Pondoro. The food was one of the best we experienced during our two weeks (including our stay in Cape Town too)! The gym is very well equipped and I had a lovely massage which was easy to book once there. We are desperate to come back! Thank you SO much Pondoro, Kate and Max

Pondoro never fails to be absolutely perfect. From the owners, who are usually a visible presence to the fantastic staff members, our time was made memorable. The fact that this was our 6th visit should speak volumes! The location, the accommodation, the food, the game drives, the staff all make for the best bush and safari experience one can have

Our family recently visited South Africa, and we had a wonderful three day stay at Pondoro Lodge. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and luxurious. The safaris were exhilarating and led by amazing guides and trackers. All staff were friendly, kind, and warm. One of the outstanding features of this resort was the food. It was exceptional!! As we ate our meals in the "tree house" restaurant, elephants or impalas walked by, hippos could be seen and heard in the water, and baboons were calling out above our heads. It felt very unreal in the best way. A huge thank you to all staff for the memorable vacation.

Everything was perfect, me and my wife had a great time. The staff is excellent, the Safari guide Rul and Erick was really amazing. We recommend this place and Safari. The food was really excellent and also the cleanliness of the room and the communes space. Thanks you

The most amazing place ever! We have just stayed at the Pondoro Lodge for 2 nights and had the most amazing time. The staff can't do enough for you they go out of their way to make everything special. The food here is amazing and we had a lovely extra special meal set up for us along with the other people we met on the game drives. Special thanks to Dewald and Andries who took us out each day for the game drives they were amazing and we learnt so many things from them they went out of there way to make it feel special and answered any questions we had. Also thank you to Sindie who made such personal details to our room each day. But really all the staff here are brilliant! We stayed in the water Lodge which is stunning with the most amazing views over the river. This was the most magical place I've ever stayed and would highly recommend i didn't want to leave. I don't even know where to start, just simply the most amazing stay for our delayed honeymoon. You almost have to pinch yourself to remind yourself you are on safari. The location of the lodge means you get the most out of your game drives with the 445am wake up call, but the rangers and trackers are just so knowledgeable and passionate. The lodge is out of this world, but waking up from an afternoon nap to find a herd of elephants grazing below our balcony is something I will never forget. Thanks to everyone, especially our housemaid Agnes for looking after us so well. We will be back!
