Ninh Binh Valley Homestay

The one star hotel rating is harsh. We got waterfront bungalow room and have stayed in worse 3 stars in Australia. The rooms are basic but have a fridge shower is nice and the beds are large if a little hard, but I had a great night sleep on them. The food has all been amazing and the beer is cold. The views from the room are spectacular. It's down a dirt road but easy to get to. There is a pub at the start to get here called the moon bar you can rent a bike from and everywhere you want to go is 15 minutes away or less. Are here now and had a few days doing all the tourist things so was nice to just come here and relax in the hammock and do nothing but look at the amazing views.

THE BEST HOMESTAY IN NINH BINH! The bungalow rooms are just as you would imagine. The photos of the area can't capture the magnificence of the area. Keep in mind, the location and adjust your expectations; you will not be disappointed. The breakfast was excellent. Amazing family run homestay.

We (parents and adult son) had a two-night stay here at the end of our fortnight in Vietnam. We were so glad to have some time in this lovely relaxing place to wind down. The bamboo chalets are simple and roomy with an open-air veranda with a fan and hammocks, table and bench. We used the veranda a lot to sit and admire the lake and superb view. Our room had two large beds, air con and shower room with decent shower. There didn't seem to be fixed meal times. When we wandered over to the dining room (inside and outside tables) there was always someone there ready to cook something for us. The family and young children were extremely friendly. At some point we mentioned it was our son's birthday and they appeared with a birthday cake and candles and party hat! LOVELY PEOPLE

Clean, comfortable, and relaxing stay in Ninh Binh. The hosts were so friendly and attentive. The AC was cold and the water was hot. The bungalows are well equipped and have everything you need for a comfortable stay, including mosquito nets on the beds. Highly recommend.

This is a great place to go to escape from all the kitsch surrounding the tourist spots in the Nimh Binh area. Tucked in the valley at the end of the road - it is quiet, isolated, and surrounded by water and the limestone cliffs. Really spectacular. The rooms are fairly spartan - but with AC - so its manageable even on the hottest days. Food is fairly limited, and basic. Plan to eat out when you can and there is a fridge in the room for left overs. Rented motorbike from the property - and it broke down about 4 km from the homestay. The team retrieved us promptly and the replacement bike worked fine. Staff are friendly. I noted some of the reviews complaining about the guys hanging around smoking and "doing nothing." This is a family property and clearly they all have their roles (including probably construction of the facilities). Highly recommend it if you are interested in going off the beaten path, and comfortable with a more rustic setting.

This family-run Homestay has been one of our best experiences in Vietnam. Their large bamboo bungalows count on espacious terrasses equipped with hanging hammocks with a breathtaking view to the surrounding mountains and lakes. They are well away from each other, to guarantee privacy. There is wifi on the bungalows. If you enjoy peace and calmness, this is a perfect place to stay. You will be awaken by the sounds of birds and ducks. The place offers free bicycles to explore this beautiful region (Mua Cave, Trang An and Tam Coc boat stations are just a few kms away). They also rent motorbikes to explore farther sites and arrange transfers by taxi at reasonable prices. On Christmas day, the family offered all guests to share their dinner and Happy Water with them. It was funny and warm, much appreciated. The large dining room area has a pool table, so you can challenge the young owners for a match. Kind and professional people, they made our stay really pleasant. A highly recommendable Homestay.
