Haritha Villas & Spa

We stayed in a contemporary pool villa for four nights and will return again. The resort is located on a hillside in a lush jungle filled with wildlife and birds but close enough to the ocean so you can hear the waves. GM Axel met us upon arrival and introduced us to our butler, Kingsley. Axel checked on us each day to ensure our stay met all of our needs. There are only 2 suites in the mansion (where the restaurant, lounge and breathtaking pool are located) and 9 contemporary villas, and each villa is well-designed and private with indoor/outdoor living spaces and plunge pool and a butler who takes care of your every need: room, dining, spa, and excursions. Kingsley was personable, helpful in an unobtrusive way, and did everything to make our anniversary stay special. When we wanted to visit the beach, Kingsley drove us down in 10 minutes on the resort’s tuktuk. He spoiled us; thanks, Kingsley! Because of the intimate size of the property, everyone (and I mean everyone) greets you with a warm, genuine smile and wants to make your stay the best you want it to be. We took advantage of the beautiful spa with private jacuzzi, steam and sauna room by joining the complimentary yoga class each morning on the outdoor studio (Pragit is an excellent instructor who personalizes the class to your abilities). We also booked three days of Ayurvedic treatments that included massages and body oil experiences; highly recommended! Food and drink offerings were varied and all delicious from traditional Sri Lankan curries to international offerings. And the personable chef met with us to inquire what we wanted to experience in our dining during our stay. Since we were on half board, our breakfast and dinners were all inclusive including a selection of drinks. If this review reads as our stay was everything we wanted it to be and more, it was. The only caveat we have is that the resort is located on a hillside so there are stairs to get to/from the mansion, villas and spa. But otherwise, if you’re looking for a small luxury resort with privacy, service, delicious food and jungle views in Sri Lanka, Haritha is the place.

This is by far the best vacation villa we stayed at and it felt like home away from home. 3 things stood out for me during this trip: 1) Swimming in your private pool during rain with slow music in the background created some really nice memories for us. 2) Our butler, Nilanka, went above and beyond with every request we had. He truly treated us like family. When we had a 4:30 am trip to a nearby safari, he was ready at 4 am with hot coffee for us. He also took us on a nice train ride to Galle to watch the sunset. 3) Regarding the food, as a person with roots in South India, I really enjoyed the Haritha set meals for dinner - especially the Sri Lankan dal so much so that I had to ask the chef for the recipe. We'll be back soon to enjoy the food and hospitality again!

This was our second stay at Haritha Villas this year. We spent 6 nights in January and another 12 nights in May/June. Both stays were excellent from start to finish. Hotel transfers are reasonably priced, and the drivers were easy to find and professional. For the most recent stay we booked both the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom mansions, which are connected by a shared saltwater pool. Don't worry about booking just 1 individual mansion as the pool is designed to provide privacy even though it's technically connected by a small gap in between the 2 wider pools. There's plenty of sun despite being surrounded by trees. The view into the jungle is so relaxing and refreshing. Monkeys were swinging in the trees, we were visited by peacocks and land monitor lizards every day, birds were singing all the time. The rooms were very clean and provided meticulous daily housekeeping and turn-down service. Dining was great, we had a half board package which included breakfast and either lunch or dinner, which we could enjoy in the restaurant or in-room dining on our covered terraces which they set up the table where we wanted every day. They have a flexible dining concept which means we could pick from the menu, or request something which wasn't on the menu, which they executed very very well. We requested two special experiences, one for a wedding anniversary, and one for the last night before my parents, sister and her fiance left. Everything was perfect, from the food to the decor and lighting to the service. The most special part of the resort is the butler service. We had a private butler for each of the mansions. In particular, I would like to thank butler Asela for his flawless service. Almost everything we wanted he anticipated in advance, and anything else he was a message away and brought what we wanted very quickly. For example each day bringing an ice bucket, ice cooler and wine cooler at dusk each day. He remembered from our last stay that we liked to use incense sticks to prevent mosquitos and bought and lit them for us each night proactively, and kept coming back to light new ones before the old ones were finished. He always checked we had plenty of bottles of water. Every time he asked if we needed anything extra, he ensured he provided the same thing for the rest of the stay. Asela really made our two stays very special, and is a substantial part of the reason we decided to go back for a 2nd stay. I can't stress how good he is at his role, having stayed at many resorts with butler service, including many Four Seasons hotels, he was by far the best butler we have ever had. Attentive, but never overbearing, always checked on us at the perfect time, advised us on trips and spa treatments, and was happy to arrange transport or go shopping for us every time we needed it. It’s one of the most beautiful properties i have ever seen and stay in. We love the place, the tranquility, the friendly staff especially Mr ~Thilina Dilshan who was with us from day one till we left. He is very friendly and deliver amazing customer service to us. This place one of best places I ever seen in my life. They helped us to make great memories. Best place for relaxing best place to blend in with nature .the food was delicious and amazing the had great chef . The staff I have never seen anyone like them in my life especially ( Charith ) he was my villa master and he was great guy.

Haritha Villas and Spa is truly one amazing place. We spent 6 nights here as part of our Honeymoon and we were treated like royalty throughout our stay. We arrived just before midnight in the pouring rain to be met and warmly welcomed by our Villa master Gayan and his colleagues who whisked us to our room where a meal and drinks had been freshly prepared and was waiting for us. Our room had been beautifully decorated with balloons etc to recognise and celebrate our honeymoon and despite the late hour Gayan ensured we were familiar with the features of our stunning room and the associated facilities before leaving us to relax, enjoy our meal before settling down for the night. This exceptional welcome and care set the tone for the rest of our stay. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and the staff all went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed a relaxed and very enjoyable stay at Haritha. Everyday Axel the general manager, the executive chef and head of housekeeping all made time to speak to us (and indeed every other guest) not only to ensure we were happy with everything but to chat and discuss our day and get to know us. The food was amazing, the quality, the quantity and presentation it was fine dining at breakfast and dinner everyday. The service was first class, friendly but unobtrusive. Our room, our terrace and plunge pool, the communal areas and the grounds were impeccably kept. The Spa and the facilities were stunning and the staff absolutely lovely. During our wander around the grounds, to find the monkeys, we bumped into the gardening team who spent ages with us explaining about the plants that were being grown and we had the most informative and enjoyable chat with one of the team who enthusiastically talked about tea production, showing us from there own on-site crop, the leaves that were picked and explaining how skilled the picking process was - it was fascinating and this chap could easily use his knowledge and skills to provide an informative tour to the guest staying at Haritha. We could of chatted to him for hours. Our Villa master Gayan was amazing - these guys work so hard to ensure your stay is nothing short of exceptional and all your needs and requirements are met I could go on and on and on about how exceptional Haritha Villas and Spa is but don't hesitate just go and find out for yourselves you will not be disappointed. Thankyou Axel, Gayan and all at Haritha Villas for making our honeymoon even more special than it already it was truly very appreciated.

This place provided us with one of the most unforgettable holiday experiences we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully arranged to make us feel like we were in paradise. The staff were exceptionally professional and kind, with a special mention to Charith, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. His helpfulness, politeness, and attentiveness truly made our visit memorable. I highly recommend this place for an exceptional getaway!

Had the best holiday with the best Butler Asela who made our stay memorable. What a great hospitality. The Boutique hotel standard was top-notch. From the reservation stage till the checkout the service was excellent and up to the highest boutique hotel standard. The amenities in the room were excellent. Nothing was missed. The price was very reasonable. Worth the money you paid. Asela our butler was the best Butler with a charming smile and a positive mind. Did his best to meet our requirements. These kinds of staff members are an asset to a hotel to maintain a high standard. We will always remember the best service offered. Food was delicious the location was amazing. I simply do not have anything negative. We will definitely be back. You are a great example for the best Hospitality and the best standard in Boutique hotels in Sri Lanka. All the best Asela, and the whole team. The owners must be proud to have a team like you all. A big shout out to the garden staff, Maintenance staff, Kitchen and F&B staff, Accounts staff, Spa and all other staff who are working so hard to maintain the location and the hotel with the highest standards. Haritha Villas & Spa was the final stop of our honeymoon and we truly saved the best to last. What an incredible, luxurious and relaxing experience. The idea that each villa has a personal butler and receives a very individual experience is fabulous. Our own fantastic butler, Dumindu, could not have done more for us but all staff were equally friendly, helpful and stopped to greet us. The hotel had its own Tuk Tuk and car which we availed of to visit the local beach, Turtle Beach and for excursions. Nilanka (from Sri Lanka!) was extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations. The cocktails were first class. We had the option to have our breakfast and dinner, either at our villa or in the restaurant by the main pool where the views were spectacular. The variety of choices and quality of the food was absolutely outstanding; some of the best food we have ever had! We could easily have been eating in a Michelin Star restaurant. Before we arrived at Haritha we thought we may want to try local restaurants but after our first meal we didn't want to eat anywhere else. Axel was very friendly and checked in with us regularly when we saw him. It is an incredibly clean and beautiful, luxurious paradise which we will recommend to our friends and family and we will definitely be back for another stay.
