Plantation House

A must stay place if you're in the area. Pure quality in all aspects. Great spacious rooms with quality bedding & very good facilities. Breakfast is awesome, either Sri Lankan or western; both have a twist to the usual breakfasts on offer. Chilled out pool. Peter's (the owner) enthusiasm for running the place is highly commendable; he just wants everything to be perfect for your visit. Highly recommended.

A beautiful oasis of calm but just a short 7 minute flat walk or 1 minute tuk tuk from the hustle and bustle of beautiful Hikkaduwa with its lively beach bars and central restaurants. Peter and Glenda were the perfect hosts and the breakfast was amongst the best we had during our 3 week stay in SL. Our accommodation was spacious and clean with both AC and Paddle Fans. A powerful shower was also perfect after a day at the beach. The owners and Staff were very attentive during our 5 day stay and we will definitely be returning.

We spent two weeks at Plantation House spanning December '23 and January '24. It's the perfect place to chill, relax and, if you want, to base yourself to see other interesting parts of the Island such as the mountain top town of Ella, the tea plantations and the National Park at Yella. Or just stay put at Hikkaduwa and a short walk will take you to the beach and all the entertainment, dining and service facilities that you would want on holiday. The house has five well-equipped and comfortable bedrooms with both roof fan and air-con. The pool is perfect and the gardens lush, private, peaceful and secluded. Our hosts Peter and Glenda were, welcoming, helpful and the service was faultless. It has night security. Peter's Sri Lankan and/or western breakfast was the perfect way to start the day and never the same menu two days running. The TukTuk team attached to the house were always responsive wherever we wanted to go or be picked up from. In fact, it was so special that we have already booked to go back next year. It really is a gem and certainly was everything we had on our holiday planning list. Would recommend it as being exceptional value.

Plantation House is beautiful, as is the lush garden and lovely pool. The rooms are bright, spacious with air conditioning and cleaned on a daily basis. The verandah is an absolute bonus and you can sit there looking out onto the beautiful garden. Glenda and Peter are so welcoming and fabulous hosts with their vast experience of working within hospitality evident. Peter's breakfasts are amazingly creative, changing on a daily basis and absolutely delicious. Plantation House is an absolute gem and I'd highly recommend staying here if you're in Hikkaduwa. It's a short walk from the main road where you will find many restaurants and bars which lead to stunning beaches. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Glenda and Peter and any query we had or information required, they were always happy to help. Thank you Glenda & Peter for an amazing stay, Susan & Ian ❤️ xx

I stayed here with my wife and adult daughter, intending to stay for 3 nights at the end of a 4 week tour of Sri Lanka. Within a very short time after arriving we all agreed that it was the best property we had stayed in and that we would stay an additional 3 nights until the end of our holiday. The host, Peter, has a long history in hospitality and his experience and attention to detail was obvious, a man with good knowledge of the area and a delight to have conversations with. The rooms were spacious, clean and contained everything we wanted from a hotel room. The breakfasts were exceptional, the gardens and swimming pool were beautiful. Should we return to Sri Lanka we would definitely stay here again, highly recommended.

This is a truly wonderful oasis , perfect for a relaxing break. The rooms are impeccably clean and very comfortable and the owners Peter and Glenda are the perfect hosts. Breakfast is a delight with fresh fruit, smoothies and freshly prepared eggs cooked to restaurant standards. Small and intimate with a lovely pool and well tended lush gardens. Nothing is too much trouble and Peter and Glenda are always happy to offer advice or recommend restaurants. We were made so welcome we felt like part of the family.
