Stella Village Seaside Hotel

We came to Stella Village for 7 nights in April. They gave us balloons and some complementary drinks and food on arrival as it was a special occasion. Which was a really nice touch. The staff we found were fantastic and were very helpful for the most part. The complex was clean and the housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy. The room layout was good, the room was modern, clean and tidy with comfy enough beds. The balcony’s didn’t have a divider, so no privacy to the room next door. I emailed prior to our arrival asking for a smoke free room, we were assured all rooms were smoke free, however people were smoking on their balcony’s frequently, this and the lack of privacy, rendered the balcony completely useless to us. The indoor bar by the children’s pool also had people smoking inside it, even with the sides shut and a single door open. We had a slight problem with our A/C on the second night and someone came around to unlock the controller within a hour. We had a very mixed bag with the weather which was brilliant for half the holiday and overcast for the other half. Even with the weather we managed to go in the pools everyday, we were the only ones in the pools frequently as they were very freezing cold no matter the weather. Heated pools would definitely enhance the experience. The drinks from the bars were fine and the waiter service and drinks to your tables in the restaurants were very good The food is poor, definitely the worst part of the hotel. Not much choice at all. We had raw chicken 2 days in a row. We complained on the first night it happened, clearly nothing was done, as the night after the same happened again. They tried to tell us pink and clearly undercooked chicken wasn’t a problem due to the type of chicken it was. Even tried to ChatGPT the picture and the problem in Greek but they weren’t having it, reception even rang when we were back in our room to tell us that it was cooked properly. To be fair they asked if we would like anything else cooking, but we were disheartened by the food by this point. There are cats roaming around the whole complex, however they were also in outdoor restaurant looking for you to feed them, we didn’t mind seeing them around, however, cats in a restaurant isn’t great. The drains around the complex smell every now and again, can be walking round and get a foul smell from somewhere. The rooms are very noisy. We had group next to us and they were running around and banging until midnight, to be fair, the reception when we complained told us to call reception if we wanted security to come up and ask them to quieten down. We didn’t complain until about 4/5 nights in, when we had enough of not sleeping properly. We then had to take up their offer and security were quick to sort it out. They then put security outside the problem room for the remaining nights due to the noise and issues. They also offered us to move rooms, however we didn’t want to upheaval this late into the holi

This was our first time visiting Greece and we want to come back for more! We stayed at the of June as a family of 4 and had a great time. The transfer from the airport was roughly 20 minutes which was great! We were then greeted by lovely reception staff. They explained everything to us and were very helpful! We stayed in room 152 which was above the Filamena restaurant. The room was very spacious with the teenagers one end and the adults at the other. We had two bathrooms, which was awesome and also a partial sea view which we wasn't expecting. Unfortunately there is a downside to the rooms and that is the paper thin walls. With people arriving at various times you hear absolutely everything, items dragged across the floor etc. Not the hotels fault but didn't help us on the sleep front! We literally spent most of our time by the pool at the Filamena. We didn't have to get up early for a sunbed as there were plenty. If you want a better spot then by all means do get down there. The best part about being in this area was the staff. We were lucky enough to be greeted each day by Euidiky, what a lovely lady! Made great drinks and always had a smile on her face. Stella village is very lucky to have Euidiky working for them!! Stella village also has a great waterpark which was a bit of a walk from our room (10 mins) but we didn't mind. We did find out you can order a golf cart to take you which was a nice idea! The waterpark caters for all ages and has a great snack bar. The other pools didn't seem to be as nice as they were quite small but ok the plus side they had a bar right next to them. Again at this bar the staff are so friendly and seem to really enjoy working at the Stella village. The food can be a bit repetitive however if you book the Mediterra each day (using the app) you may notice differences between the 2 restaurants with one having a few different dishes. Book early and if you didn't find anything pop into the main restaurant and have a look at the other items. I'm a really fussy eater and I ate a lot!!! The cocktails are great and the beer wasn't too bad either! Entertainment was good fun, there was a kids disco followed by a show pretty much every night (1 bingo night as well). This disco in the bar next to the Mediterra was a laugh and this starts a little bit after the entertainment. The beach is opposite the hotel and seemed very clean and the water was calm. The sunsets are amazing, definitely get down there for pictures. We did our own little shopping trip to Herisonissos which was a 15 euro taxi each way. Reception will book this for you. Pleasent area and worth a look round. Overall the staff are what make this hotel, I have never been to a place where I felt so welcome. Nothing was a problem and were always happy to help. It is strange that there are multiple hotels on the site and can use each others facilities but if you want a great value getaway book the Stella village.

Staff are brilliant, location good for a quieter relaxing vacation as your out of the hustle of the main town. Food is ok but repetitive same food day in day out after a week you do get fed up with the food options. Good weather and staff make up for the little things.

IF YOU ARE ATAYING AT STELLA VILLAGE (NOT STELLA PALACE) THEN READ THIS. All the imagery of the nice pools etc are palace, not village. Our family stayed last week at village. It's totally mis sold in our opinion, they hide the truth / reality.  Re the luxury. You have a tiny dirty pool near reception, a handful of worn basic sunbeds and umbrellas which  are nowhere near enough bearing in mind the temps were 34° last week. We walked 30 secs and there are nice pools, bars, sunbeds. Village guests CANNOT use them. You get sent back to the small dirty pool area. It's a joke. We paid just under £5000 for a week. Restaurant / buffet is the worst we have been to. Small range. Drinks poor. The only saving points were that our room was a decent standard, Air-con good and the waterpark entertained our young son. I'm finding it hard to offer much praise otherwise. Stella group will not get any future business from us. I don't want to upset anyone who is going I just wish I knew then what I know now.

Booked 2 weeks at the hotel, had i known before hand is bay have only booked the 1, rooms are adequate for what you need, thankfully booked family room with partition otherwise would have been very clamped and that for 3 of us together with tea and coffee provided for the room otherwise this would have been extra cost. Was aware of tourist room tax but the price in perk season has been hiked up to 10 euros per night per room which I found expensive on top of what you have already paid for. Entertainment very little if it and left to make your own assument of a evening on occasions they do put something on but not often enough. Food was OK for the first few days however, breakfast, lunch and dinner is the same thing with the occasional one different dish thrown in, service can be slow for drinks once you are seated for food, you seem to get one drink then you have to get there attention if you want more we ended up going to the bar and getting our own on a few nights, staff very polite and friendly and it's the staff that make the place, air con only seemed to work one side of the room and not the other even though we had 2 units due to the partition, fridge not even cold light comes on that's about it. I think 1 week is enough 2 weeks it's exhausting mainly for the lack of options on the food. Can't fault the weather, I'll take the good weather any day it's just the dread of lack of food options mainly that let it down, can't wait to go home

We have recently returned from an amazing family holiday in Stella Village. The staff throughout this hotel were amazing and everyone worked so hard for their guests. It really was incredible. The hotel is spotlessly clean, food was lovely and the location was like a dream. The most stunning sunsets we have ever seen. The pools and waterpark along with a private beach area meant that no area became overcrowded and there were always sun-beds available somewhere. Just a short taxi ride into town and a daily public bus to Heraklion but plenty of areas to explore in the surrounding area. Loved it so much that we have already rebooked.
