The was a lovely place to stay for our night in Hermanus. The owners, Zeno and Marlene were so welcoming and friendly. The room was great - spacious and spotlessly clean. We managed to see whales from the cliff path and did an early morning whale watching trip that was brilliant. We would not hesitate to recommend The Whale on Main to anybody that is visiting Hermanus.

We had an amazing stay here. The rooms are super nice and clean , also the owners of the B&B are very hospitality. They tell you all about the good places you need to visit and had some really good recommendations for some restaurants. When you’re planning to go to Hermanus this is the place you need to stay!

We booked a stay here before Covid hit, and rebooked it for a year later but still couldn't make it, this year we finally made it and worth the wait it was. The property is stunning and the photos just do not do it justice, we stayed for 3 nights and loved every moment. Attention to detail is thorough right throughout the property as are the hosts, Geno & Marlene. Offering lots of advice about places to see and venues to eat. The property is within easy walking distance of the cliff path where you can either go to Hermanus itself in 30+ minutes or in the opposite direction to Sopiesklip Beach. If you drive into town it's about 5 minutes so all in all a great location. And if you are there at the right time of year there is a good chance of seeing whales from the cliff path and even in Hermanus itself. So if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Hermanus then you won't go far wrong at Whale on Main.

We have had a beautiful time with Zeno and Marlene at their lovely place. It is very clean and the rooms are big - breakfast was really tasty! We have been welcomed so nice, we felt like coming home. Zeno gave us grade advises what to do in Hermanus and we would love to come back for a little longer next time! Thank you for having us!

Zeno and Marlene are a very lovely couple that will make you surely feel home. The rooms are very big, organized and clean and so are the other rooms of the house. The breakfast is fantastic, directly prepared by Zeno and Marlene and the staff is efficient and kind.

A super stay we were made to feel very welcome, a lovely well furnished guest house, very comfortable and a breakfast not to be missed. Lovely comfy bed and super hot shower, we will definitely visit again, but for longer next time

This is a great place to stay, not just because the rooms are modern, clean and high quality, but mainly because the hosts are genuinly friendly. From teh moment when we arrived till our departure,our hosts were very customer oriented, offered useful tips and advice (and binoculars to watch the whales). We immediately felt welcome as a person, not as a customer. Thanks Zeno and Marleen.

We spent 2 nights at Whale in January. The property is very clean and well maintained, breakfast good and owners friendly and very helpful. We found it a bit difficult to sleep as there was no ac and the fan was a bit noisy. Good walks from just across the road.

Lovely B&B near Hermanus Golf Club and not far to town or the beach. Owners were very helpful and breakfast was great each day. Nice pool outside and spacious comfy rooms inside. Would definitely stay there again. Many thanks!
