The Falcon Hotel

Stumbled upon this hotel when on holiday last month and decided to eat in their restaurant. Three lovely young ladies running the bar, restaurant and reception. Loved the old charm of the hotel/restaurant. Food was delicious and such good value. We had lasagne and the beef and blue cheese pie. When my husband is next in the area on business, he will be sure to visit again.

Despite a minor mix up on Check In, which was quickly sorted out, we enjoyed our stay at The Falcon. A very old, not chain, property which gives it a certain charm and depth of significance not present in more modern, more sterile, establishments. Its also right i the centre of this fine old market town. Friendly staff who were keen to accomodate. Good parking and nice small garden. Room was clearly very old with lopsided floors and windows but for all that was comfortable and good value. Would stay there again if in the area. Breakfast was good with fresh bread for toast and kippers on the menu, something increasingly difficult to find in any modern hotel

A really lovely traditional Sunday Roast. Lovely staff and dog friendly Portions are huge so be prepared! We had the pork and beef and it was delicious! Lovely home made ice cream too with some great flavours A really beautiful old restaurant within the hotel

Had a brilliant 21st Wedding Anniversary here at The Falcon Hotel. We loved our room and everyone was really fire and had excellent customer service. The food was 5* plus and was well presented and tasted amazing. We both love it here and will stay here for many years to come. We have been coming here since we got engaged many years ago. I have known the falcon since I was a boy .

Staff rude and unwelcoming, overpriced room where the bed was tiny, terribly squeaky and uncomfortable, had a terrible nights sleep due to being put in a room that was directly next door to the function room which had a party on with blaring music, because of this the hotel was flooded with rowdy drunk people loitering about, as myself and my partner walked up the steps to the hotel door a man took one look at us and said ‘who the f*** are these people!’ . Whilst we were trying to get some sleep in our room, someone I’m guessing from the party tried to open our door, which was worrying unsettling, as well as that the room was freezing and dingy, was also woken up at 5am by what I assume was a staff member outside the room slamming doors, with about 3 hours sleep we checked out before 7am as we wanted to get out that hell hole. I’ve never stayed in a worse establishment as this.

Can't bet this place 2 sleep eat and stay. The staff are fabulous. Little village for a stroll Tuesday evenings they have local players come in. I would recommend people 2 come and stay here any time. If only I can book in April 4 August which is really hard
