The Smithy

Had a lovely 3 nights at this lovely property. Stayed in the The Horseshoe annexe, it was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped and had a perfect covered patio to relax on, whatever the weather. Huge comfortable bed and the underfloor heating ensured you were comfy and relaxed. Chris and Christine were superb hosts, friendly and helpful. t]The breakfasts were terrific, with plenty of choice, the scrambled egg was the best I have ever eaten. Parking was good and the location was a perfect base to explore the area and a short drive into Hay on Wye and all it has to offer. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a very well run B & B in a beautiful setting.

We stayed at the Smithy for 6 nights in "The Horseshoe". From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. Chris and Christine are excellent hosts and have provided high-end accommodation. We loved the view from our room and it was spotlessly clean with everything we could need. The breakfasts are to die for! Such a fantastic choice and generous portions. Loved the fruit plate which we enjoyed each day. They were helpful in giving us tips as to where to visit locally which we found very useful. Would highly recommend.

We recently stayed two nights at The Smithy to attend a wedding locally, and can not fault anything. The attention to detail was very good from the supply of complimentary toiletries, fresh milk and water for use in your room, usb port and wifi in the bedroom. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice. Also the hosts were very friendly.

Absolutely wonderful. Easy check in. Amazing room. Waterfall shower and handheld. Lovely toiletries. Coffee machine and everything ready. Proper milk in the fridge. Really comfortable bed. Slept like a log. Beautiful gardens. Lovely to walk around. Sheep and hens in the back field. Chairs and table under shelter so sat out when it was raining. Wonderful breakfast. Local produce. Eggs from the place itself. Lovely kind owners. Highly recommend. Will be coming back.

We were on a charity cycle ride and Chris made us very welcome as we passed through Hay on Wye. Lovely room, great facilities with everything you could think of , even a USB port by the bed. Delicious breakfast, some helpful advice on where to buy cake and a group photo - and we were on our way! Thank you Chris and Christine!

Beautiful, clean comfortable place to stay with fabulous garden and views. The breakfast was phenomenal- delicious, fresh, local produce and huge portions. We would love to stay again! Such friendly hosts!
