Wonderful staff throughout. Thank you for a wonderful short break. Relaxed and perfectly executed on all levels. Wonderful location, highly recommended. The garden rooms are a gone from home with a wonderfully designed little kitchen. Good deal on rooms. We were well looked after.

A wonderful weekend away to get away for it all. Martin and his team went above and beyond to make our stay extremely enjoyable. A great atmosphere in the garden , and nice to see children were welcome, with a play area to keep them entertained. Highly recommend Sunday roast and desi pizza is a must. Rooms lovely and spacious, plenty off street parking. Look forward to returning, thank you for relaxing stay.

ignore the reviews, I recently went to visit during the nice weather with with my wife and children who had a lovely time, unfortunately due to the commotion caused by other people not supervising their own children who went into a property adjacent to the hotel (I know this because I had to bring my two children back from there as they were being nosey) it ruined a beautiful atmosphere, the staff are all really welcoming and my heart goes out to the staff working that day and the vile accusations made against the team :) brilliant selection of larger and the food was spot on! will defiantly be visiting again soon, such a shame that people feel the need to speculate and ruin businesses that we need to keep the area thriving :)

Absolutely appalling attitude from management when he physically handled a child causing injury. Due to a child entering an area that wasn’t even marked as “no entry”. And calling referring to a neurodiverse child as “mental problems”. Wouldn’t recommend with a family. Dead rats in the play area anyway.

Supposedly a family establishment. Myself and my family go around once a month when the weather is pleasant to enjoy the garden. My children have been told if they want to play go to the park(there is a play area), they are to big for the seasaw and to get off it (aged6&9), dead rat and bird in play area owners response was 'shows the poison is working', today a manager pushed over my 6 year old which cut and bruised his knee. Every one of these happened on different occasions over the past 12 months, this is my final straw I will not be returning. Such a shame as it is a beautiful building with a lovely garden. The management is poor and not family friendly.

The manager is sooo very rude, abusive and manhandles children The rest of the staff can't do enough for you and are very attentive and polite Such a shame as its a beautiful building in a lovely setting and in a great location of Presteigne Powys

A lovely hotel. Great staff. Great food Great beer. Very reasonable prices. The hotel is steeped in history going back to Elizabeth the first ... zThis is a place we will return to as soon as I get back to the area which is a fantastic for walks and senary

Just returned from a very pleasant 3 nights break at this quirky, but full of period features, hotel. Had our doubts about a continental breakfast as we always look forward to a full English but needn't have worried. There was plenty of variety on offer and extremely enjoyable. As was the recommendation "Desi Pizza" offer later on in the day. You'll have to go a long way to find a more delicious pizza. The £10:95 promotion included a drink. I had a superb pint of Wye Valley Butty Back. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we'd already dined in Ludlow, we had to opt out ot the Wednesday evening Carvery which looked superb. Will plan our day better next time. Rooms were beautifully clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Wonderful sandwich shop down the road, as recommended by the Manager, where we purchased our excellent snacks for the journey back to Swansea. I would advise booking direct as a search engine selection may see you end up with their allocation of budget rooms.

We (5 friends) stayed here whist visiting the Hay on Wye Book Festival. We also enjoyed exploring Presteigne, where we had excellent take away sandwiches from Lorna's shop and a good chat with the friendly gallery owner. The hotel was quiet, with spacious rooms, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and also friendly staff, especially Louise. 3 of our party had substantial Carvery meals at the hotel one night, though this evening meal service should be highlighted more clearly on the website. We would love to come back!
