Canareef Resort Maldives

We really had a fantastic time at Canareef over Christmas and New Year. We were unfortunate that our flight was delayed for 5 hours so we didn't arrive till really early in the morning, but they welcomed us with open arms and made sure the check in process was really quick and smooth. It was a short buggy drive to our beach front villa with a jacuzzi, which we used every day! The room was really big and spacious with a lovely balcony, big bathroom, and closet area. We walked to the restaurant and bar a lot, but you can just call for a buggy. I was very impressed with all the events the hotel put on for christmas and New Year. The dancing and singing, DJ, games, cocktail party, christmas dinner NYE dinner, and much more were all inclusive and really did make our trip special. Many times I forgot our room number, the staff never once did! They were spectacular, such a big selling point of the resort. We had 2 massages they were fabulous. The beach bar was beautiful, the only down side, never enough staff working! And a lot of people would get a buggy up there early in the morning to put towels down and get the buggy back for breakfast which is so annoying, I only know this as the resort is great for a 5k run so saw people do this everyday! We managed to help the turtles back to sea and go and see the dolphins! All in all we really really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation and package was excellent, I hope to return! Only a few negatives, some days no towels by the pool, or no sun louges available, I don't think each villa needs 4 loungers, some of these should be allocated to the beach, for the price I pay I want to be able to have a louger on the pool or beach. Would have been great if all restaurants were open. Fantastic stay and the staff hoenstly were amazing from the cleaning team to the bar and waiting staff to the manager, everyone wanted to make sure we were having the best time.

We were taken care of very well after arriving in Male we had to wait a while to connect to Gan but not the hotels fault and a lovely boat ride to Island. Check in easy but was not impressed with our room so we were given a room with sea view perfect and the manager Mr Sherzod dealt with us perfectly. The Island has golf buggies to get you from A to B as the Island is four miles long. A lack of restaurants or the fact that the buffet food is very Indian orientated was a small negative but in such a perfect location you cant have everything all in all value for money ….. staff very friendly

We just got back from Canareef, and wow—what a trip! It might not officially be a five-star resort, but honestly, it felt like we were living the five-star dream. This was one of the most memorable vacations we’ve ever had. From the moment we landed at Velana Airport, everything was so smooth. We felt safe, welcome, and completely taken care of. The Maldives is obviously stunning! The island itself is 4.5 km long, but getting around was so easy thanks to the buggies and bicycles. Whether we were heading to the pool, the beach, or the restaurant, everything felt accessible and convenient. On top of that, the all-inclusive offer was fantastic—we didn’t miss a thing! The food, drinks, and service were all spot-on. And let’s not forget the stunning nature and wildlife. From vibrant sunsets to lush greenery and wildlife sightings, every corner of the island felt like a postcard. We could tell that the resort is doing a great job preserving the natural beauty of the island, and we really appreciated that effort. But what really made this trip unforgettable was the Canareef staff. They’re absolutely amazing—always smiling, always helpful, and just making sure everything was perfect. A few people really stood out for us: Indri, oh my gosh, she made us feel like royalty. Her kindness, beautiful smile, and warmth made such a difference. Zyad, our waiter, who took such good care of us and always there with advices. Tushara, the pool master, who made pool time a blast and was always ready to help. Our housekeeper from Nepal (we stayed in bungalow 219)—we didn’t catch his name, but he was so sweet and kept our place spotless. The Anj Music musicians—what a vibe! Keep up the amazing work, guys! The chefs who spoiled us with delicious food (seriously, so good!), and even the buggy drivers and diving center staff, We can’t thank everyone enough for making this trip so special. Canareef, you’ve got a winning team, and we really hope you treasure them because they’re the heart and soul of your resort. We’ll definitely be telling everyone back home about this place. If you’re looking for a little slice of paradise, Canareef is it!

First things, first…the island is large, it’s very long, the resort is huge, spread out along the length by a few kilometres…the main hub (reception, office, shop, spa, gym, dining, swimming pool, main bar, etc) is lopsided towards the “top end” of the island, while most of the accomodation spreads towards the “bottom end” of the island a couple of kilometers away…the walk is nice, shaded, scenic, bikes are supplied, and the resort shuttle buggies which are only ever a couple of minutes away…our room we stayed was of course furthest towards the bottom of the island, 5-10 minutes by buggy… On the plus side, our room was closest to the bottom of the island, a “beach bar” located there, it’s the “nicest beach” on the island, with the best reef system, it’s the only place to get a decent snorkel to see fish, if that’s what you want to do, that’s where you’d go… a 5-6/10 at best for snorkelling, but that’s the Maldives for you (bleached coral common there)… All the rest is good news, it’s cheap, rooms are very large, very comfortable, very clean, full facilities, our room had a nice spa, accomodation right on the beach…due to the size of the resort, they spaced our neighbours, so it was very private…food was full buffet, decent spread, slight change of menu each day, although there was spaghetti/pasta served every lunch/dinner extra to the buffet choices…drinks at dining, beer or wine only…drinks at the bars, limited cocktail choices, however you can have any spirit, and mix of your own choice, e.g. gin and bitter lemon, whiskey and Coke, etc…the swimming pool at the main bar was huge, plenty of room for everyone…shallow at one end, progressively deeper towards the other end…beautiful surroundings, shady trees, sunning lounges, most of which have umbrellas available, friendly staff, especially the serving girls…3 large pool tables, table tennis, table soccer game, library book selection, games in plenty (chess, dominoes, etc), large indoor sit down area, clean toilets, showers available, magnificent sunset views, free dolphin cruise, free massage included, a win, win for us… Would definitely go again and probably will…

Stay at Canareef Resort was an amazing experience, ambience was excellent. Staff are very friendly and always has a welcome attitude. Beautiful island with a stretch of 4.5KM, best way to explore the island is by bicycle. Food is delicious, veg, nonveg as well as jain food available on request. I will strongly recommend this resort if you are looking for a pleasant and relaxing stay.
