Strathallan Guest House

Stayed at this Guest House in 2022 and was so impressed I came back with my sister & a friend for one week. Once again owners Davey & Valerie made us so welcome. Very helpful & accommodating, was literally home from home. My sister & I shared a room which was very spacious & spotlessly clean with free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, flat screen TV, kettle, fridge with fresh milk daily, biscuits, bottled water, operated on an honesty basis! On-suite bathroom was immaculate with supply of wonderful toiletries. Perfect breakfast selections including full English to set you up for a day of sightseeing! Helston is perfect base for many great tourist attractions. Beautiful harbour town of Porthleven within walking distance or only ten minute bus ride away. We visited Lands End, St Ives, Predannack Downs Nature Reserve minutes fromThe Lizard, day trips to some of the most beautiful beaches - Porthcurno, Porthminster all within easy reach! Stayed at the Strathallan for the Helstonbury weekend as it is my go to place when in Helston. You will not find a better place in my opinion. The standard of the rooms are second to none and the (Silver Award) breakfast is spot on with choices and quality. I can highly recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs 10/10. Dave and Val can not do enough for you. Will definitely be back next year. Thanks Dave and Val again for looking after us, see you next year 10/10.

We stayed at Strathallan Guest House for six nights in June 2024. We felt completely at ease with Dave and Val and had a wonderful time. As we came by car we very much appreciated having a parking space directly in front of the guesthouse. Our room with a bath was spacious, however the double bed was a bid narrow. The breakfast has to be mentioned in particular: There was a choice of British breakfast variations and every day Dave served a freshly made breakfast at the guest's wish. It was a perfect stay and we would choose this guesthouse again and also recommend it to our friends

This is the 3rd. year that my wife and I have stayed at Strathallan Helston and will always stay there in the future. One advantage of staying in Helston, is that it’s almost central to the South Easterly and South Westerly tips of Cornwall and quite close to the North Coast. The rooms at Strathallan are extremely comfortable and spotless. As regards breakfast, David is a chef who produces excellent food. There is also a large selection of dishes to choose from and he does not apply the system of having to order the night before, which we both hate. He and Val are most hospitable and there is a nice garden to sit in.

I had the most perfect stay at Strathallan Guest House. I’m a fussy traveller and I cannot fault it. As a solo traveller I felt very safe. It’s also very reasonable for a solo traveller. It was perfectly clean, a calm and relaxing atmosphere and the hosts were lovely and kind and caring. I loved the interior design too.. it had a homely but quality feel to it. The garden was beautiful too! Dave made the best breakfasts and catered very carefully for my gluten-free/coeliac dietary requirements. I only drink good coffee and even that was perfect! The fridge in my room came in handy too to keep some extra snacks fresh. It’s so good when you find a little oasis like this! I will certainly be going back for my visits to Cornwall!

Three night stay was fantastic, location was very good, room was excellent and Dave was friendly and informative about the area. Breakfast was outstanding. Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
