Great location with an exceptional stay due to Lynne and Neville superb hosting. Friendly helpful and welcoming. Our girls loved the pool (despite it being autumn) and the facilities. Would be delighted to stay again (we stayed for 3 weekS due to relocation).

We stayed 5 nights during our sons cricket camp. Clean, tidy room coupled with super helpful owners. Even helped us out trying to clean cricket white sports gear from their own commercial laundry. Our son really appreciated the lovely salt water pool every day after a hot day in the field. Would definitely stay again.

We had a spacious one bedroom with air-conditioning which in this heat was amazing. Owners and staff were welcoming and friendly - and showed that they cared that you were enjoying your stay. A big thank you to Lynne and Neville for making us and Ember feel at home, our room had a lovely bathroom and kitchen and we felt more like family sitting outside of an evening. Wine Country Motel is only minutes from restaurants, wineries, recreational areas and local attractions. Great value for money over 3 days. Thanks Guys!

Unfortunately for me this was an underwhelming experience when I had higher hopes. Upon arrival the front of desk staff aren’t very welcoming, it’s straight “that’ll be $$” rather than “welcome, how was your drive down?”. The room was nice enough. The outdoor pool isn’t heated so it’s not an all year round facility. There was a sports team of teenagers staying who kept me up and woke my daughter up several times with being rowdy and running laps outside our door. I had to pop my head out twice and ask them to be quiet. I understand the behaviour of other guests isn’t a reflection of the motel or the staff but it just added to the already average experience. Upon leaving, we asked if the Napier/Taupo roads were all open due to the weather in the area, rather than being helpful we got “I assume so”. I’m used to front desk staff wanting to help their guests or be friendly. Not sure I would stay there again as we weren’t made to feel welcome.
