Hoysala Village Resort

In the last couple of months, I had been running through extremely busy schedules at the office and was almost draining out physically and mentally. We decided to take a break into something which can give us a memory to cherish for long. We locked in "Hoysala Village Resort" looking at the resort pics and some reviews. I would like to present a detailed review of my stay experience in this resort Booking - Stay was booked through MMT and was a hassle free experience. As usual I called up the resort to confirm if the booking was received and the front desk promptly confirmed. CheckIn - As soon as we reached the resort, we were welcomed by the guards at the hotel, our baggage was promptly moved into the reception and I was guided to the parking area. The entrance of the resort has a beautiful Sai Baba temple and the architecture of that is something we cannot explain in words and is a must see. We were then made to sit into a room while the check-in process was worked upon. We were promptly informed that the room was being prepared for our stay and would take 15 mins. Believe me, exactly in the 15th minute we were accompanied by the staff into our room. Room - We had booked a heritage superior cottage. The rooms were absolutely stunning. The theme of the overall resort itself is beautiful as they tend to preserve the ancient civilizations and the culture/heritage. Room was absolutely clean and smelling nice, towel, bed linen, bathroom everything was perfectly clean. Resort - Resort is surrounded by flora and fauna across and has been maintained beautifully. Resort staff gave us a walkthrough of the property and showed us the dining areas and restaurant. Staff had requested us to join the Pooja and Deepa lighting at 6:30pm. The resort looked light up with the diyas and was looking absolutely fantastic. Staff had informed us to be part of Gou Pooja the following day in the morning around 7:30am. We had an opportunity to attend this and saw a beautiful cow "Lakshmi" which greeted us and blessed us. Staff - I don't have anything to point out here. Every staff member deserves a special mention. Believe me, every single staff member greeted us with a smile every time they passed by you. This gesture is rarely seen in a few resorts. Keep it up Hoysala Village team! Rating 5/5 Food - Trust me, whatever we ordered was finger licking good. It's Mangalore style food which I love anyways... The environment, friendly staff added more flavour to our food. I would like to give the chef a big round of applause. Rating 5/5 CheckOut: You feel extremely special at this time. Every single guest gets a great send off. They made us sit on a special chair whilst the staff applied kumkum and performed an Arthi. They also gave some goodies (this consists of a pack of cinnamon, Black Pepper and coffee powder). This being our third visit we went with excitement but not much expectation than last time but this place never fails to amaze me each time i visit it. They have probably one of the most carefully curated and unique spread of breakfast lunch and dinner with top notch quality ingredients. The whole resort is rooted in simplicity and heritage but with a touch of luxury in all of it from the way the rooms are designed to the way they welcome their guests everything is so well planned and executed. The staffs are always dressed so humbly with the most warmest smiles and excellent service. One thing this place can guarantee is the feeling it gives of being home away from home due to it’s interior being made from red mud stones and surrounded by nature. Still thinking of the breakfast spread and the most coziest room this resort has to offer.

Right from the time I stepped in to checkin to the property to the time I checked out, a few things that remained unchanged 1) Friendly staff:- very courteous and always smiling staff. Be it the folks at reception, restaurant, housekeeping or security, all of them had a bright smile and were very courteous. Special thanks to Ashwini madam and Harish sir. They responded to all our requests. 2) Amazing Food:- we had booked all 3 meals ***** with our stay. And boy I must say that all 3 meals outclassed the previous ones. We had a sumptuous lunch with a wide spread. If that was not enough, there some lip smacking entrees and starters for dinner. Next morning was blown away by the traditional banana leaf breakfast encompassing some of the best food from south canara.. 3) Rooted to local culture:- the entire property screams of local Karnataka culture. Apt with a name like Hoysala village, it transports you to a time begone. Be it the main entrance, reception block, restaurants, rooms, suites and of course the temple… all of them take us back to a time that was simple and traditional. The icing on the cake is the traditional welcome and farewell given to guests. 4) Staying relevant :- apart from taking back in time, the property also stays relevant for current times. There is a big indoor play area for kids to play, a big swimming pool, Spa and Ayurvedic Center. Not to mention the entire property gives us enough spots to capture some wonderful photos. In all, I would strongly recommend a stay at Hoysala Village. A five star rating for them.

It was very beautiful place. Had a nice traditional touch. We did cart ride, cattle puja, Breawas awesome. The staff was very courteous. Specially Ashwini Manjula Harish gagamma. In the end while leaving, they handed us a nice package of spices. Improvement in the services could be- in room dining experience could be improved. Cleanliness could be improved. There was dust in some places. But overall stay experience was really good. You can always consider going to this resort.

My experience at Hoysala Village was absolutely amazing!! I came to this hotel on a school trip with a group of 22 other students and three teachers and I can say without a doubt we loved our stay. Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The green, luscious scenery and traditional buildings helped me escape from the hustle and bustle of the main cities in India - immersing me into tranquility and peace. The hospitality of the staff is one of a kind. My group were welcomed with such warmth into the hotel, which continued throughout our stay. I remember struggling to haul my two suitcases into and from my room, but fortunately the staff aided me and took over. The food is also delicious!! I don’t regret stuffing myself full at every meal I had at Hoysala Village. My group stayed at three other hotels before this and many say that the food here is the best out of them. They offer a variety of veg and non-veg Indian delicacies, which you are bound to enjoy. My personal favourite was one of the sweets, called ragi pudding. Overall, my group and I would highly recommend a stay at Hoysala Village to anyone planning to come into the area!
