Waterfalls Estate - Falls Motel & Waterfront Campground

From the warm welcome to my camp site I loved everything about my visit. In fact I enjoyed my one night stay so much that I returned a few days later for two more nights. Facilities a basic but adequate and the proximity to the water was outstanding. This small camp ground encouraged campers to mix and the addition of free kayaks and a covered seating area was special. Hosts Michael and Campbell were extremely friendly and accommodating.

The friendliest, scenic, idyllic & totally affordable campground you will find. Stunning views of the iconic Haruru Falls, swimming pool & free kayaks to explore the estuary up to Waitangi, cycle ride to Waitangi, fish, explore & relax & enjoy. We stayed here 40yrs ago, on our honeymoon camping holiday, & the campground has stayed true to the gorgeous surroundings. Michael & Campbell who own the complex are unbelievably accomodating, friendly & downright lovely guys...( thanks so much guys for your help & conversations). You will not regret staying here I can absolutely guarentee.

It felt like paradise. A cute little and quiet campground with a view at the Haruru falls, just awesome, particularly when it was dark. The sanitary facilities and kitchen were spot clean. The owner Michael is a superb host. Each morning and evening inquiring whether everything was to my satisfaction. As a result one night became three! This little gem is highly recommended.

A must stay destination. Don't be fooled by what appears to be an older style motel. The facilities are great, the owner/management totally helpful, and knowledgable about the local area, and the location is absolutely stunning - one of the best we have encountered on our many trips around the Motu/NZ. If you are hikers or bikers this is a fabulous location for easy access to a range of stunning tracks taking you around coastlines and to experience the stunning native forest of Northland. A must stop off for all to access Waitangi and spend time in that beautiful place to appreciate our cultural heritage and understand our NZ history and the importance of Te Tiriti - especially important at this time.

The campsite is in a brilliant location and has very clean and well equipped facilities. The access to the Haruru falls and surrounding walks is fantastic. Michael the site owner is super helpful too.

We have stayed many times here in the past and always been nice but with new owners it’s even nicer! Magic spot right by the falls, quiet and the falls are lit up at night. I saw some reviews said ablution block needed replacing but it’s nice and clean, been repainted and works perfectly. Love it here. Michael made us very welcome. Sites are well painted out so you know which site to go to. Awesome place.

We loved this stay, it was a last minute booking and they couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed.. They were a great help organising a few walks and tourist things… amazing location!!

Highly recommend staying here. Can’t fault this beautiful motel that oversee’s a beautiful Waterfall! Michael is respectable, pleasant with amazing customer service! He always goes above and beyond to make our stays special!
