Doubletree by Hilton Harrogate - Majestic Hotel & Spa

We were delighted to have a corner room however it was absolutely freezing. We spoke to reception who advised us to use the radiator valve, which was already on full. We had to remove the access panel and gather the curtains up onto the sill to allow some heat into the room. The room remains uncomfortably cold for the duration of our stay. The bathroom was much worse. Single glazing with a metal frame the had black mould and condensation all around it. The window ledge was speckled with said black mould had pools of condensation. While the bathroom was 'accessible' it was poorly laid out so that some things were not accessible - height of shower head, hand soap, mirror and the shower sprayed all over the toilet seat. The accessibility alterations appear to be an after thought. The bedding had black marks on the pillows with a stained and ripped bed sheet. One teabag and when we requested some more we were rationed. We queued for around 20 minutes only to be told there were no tables available in the restaurant, then waited almost an hour for 1 pizza in the bar area. FYI parking is virtually non-existent, with cars abandoned on verges etc. Poor all round. Staff were nice but seemed reactive rather than proactive. I don't recommend staying here but the facilities appeared nice, although we didn't use them so we can't comment on the quality. Sadly, 'all fur coat no knickers' comes to mind...

Lovely hotel close to town, quick friendly check in Big room with plenty of storage and shower room . Sadly my room wasn’t very clean, found dirty tissue under dresser. Spa facilities amazing and 1hr free use each day if stay.

The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring sights of Harrogate everything very nearby! From checking in and our room available early with welcome cookies which were warm and amazing to checkout the staff could not be more helpful! The room was on the third floor clean, tidy and well presented. The gym and spa facilities were all good and nice to use and relax especially on a Sunday evening! The breakfast was buffet with a selection of hot and cold options the parcel machine was my favourite fresh pancakes which were delicious! This hotel is huge but it's well maintained clean tidy and such an enjoyable experience for our anniversary!
