Premier Inn Harrogate South

Room was fine - standard, clean etc. We went down to the restaurant for breakfast at 9.10, were told that there was a bit of a wait for cooked breakfast as they were short staffed. We agreed and paid for the full breakfast. They didn’t take our order for about 20 minutes. Whilst waiting went to get pastries. There were no plates. Went and asked the waiter, who was messing about on his phone. Later went to get tea, the milk dispenser was very low. Again the waiter was on his phone. We watched a couple with young children clearing a table of dirty dishes and wiping it down before they could sit down. At 10.15 we still had no cooked food and had had enough so walked out. It has certainly put me off having breakfast in a premier inn!

I wish i had did the reviews before i visited this premiere inn, normally premiere inns are good across the board unfortunately not this one .. From arriving in the evening there was no staff on reception ,waited ages before we spotted someone and that person was in the bar area ..Once checked in the person on reception gave you the impression she didn't want to be there ...The evening meal was inedible the staff uninterested . The room was fine apart from the bathroom fan extractor not working meaning we had to make sure the door was fully closed so we did not set the heat/smoke detector off when showering ,no hot water in the sink either ... Breakfast was also a disaster ,we waited over a hour from ordering are meal to finally get it again the food was awful ,there was only one member of staff who was running around like a scalded cat ,he ran out of coffee,toast and juices he just couldn't keep up ,he was also taking orders ,taking the food out and daring back in to reception Premiere inn you need to pull your socks up on this one and to be honest this was just so unfair on the one member of staff who was left on his own to do everything ,not good at all.....

Wasn’t looking forward to staying here after reading reviews. Not allowed to check in until 15:00 unless paid £15. Went through to pub to have a drink but like a ghost town and no staff at all and freezing cold. Booked a premier plus room which was ok. Clean bathroom. Room had a funny smell a bit like stale tobacco. Convenient for the train. Breakfast was one of the worse I’ve had at a premier inn and was passable at best. Think the worst decision they ever made was closing the pubs to the general public that are attached to them.

Good value as always. Clean rooms and bathroom. No smell of residual cigarette smoke which sets off asthma. Breakfast...having to place specific orders for Hotfood seemed forced and controlling. And I was in a rush to get to a conference. Checking out..no person, was notvsure if to leave card behind but did and dashed out as was running late for a conference.

Not sure where to start. We booked a premier plus room, which on arrival wasn't very clean and had one tea bag and no sugar or coffee. Not the best start but we were going out so made do. We went out at 10am the next morning and asked for the room to be cleaned which it said we needed to do before 12. We returned at half 5 and the room hadn't been cleaned. We still had no tea or coffee and had to go down and ask the uninterested receptionist for towels . She was so unhelpful and didn't even listen to what I said so took the towels and left. Avoid this hotel there are much better hotels at similar prices.

3rd and unfortunately the last time I will be staying here. Cleanliness of the room was extremely poor. Various areas not cleaned properly including the carpet. The heater in my room and my colleagues next door sounded like we was back at our workshop, making banging noises. Colleagues coffee machine was broken, didn't try mine, just made a normal brew. I turned mine off the first night and it blindly refused to turn back on on my second night. Fortunately it wasn't too cold. The bar only had one choice of beer/lager on tap. All others had 'line issues'. Not happy about that. Wasn't fixed on my second night so had to purchase alcohol from a supermarket. Not convenient when it's a pub attached to a hotel.
