Really nice, old but renovated hotel in Haparanda, in the border of Finland and Sweden. The most east point of Sweden, hence the name. -We had a superior room which located 2th floor, near reception. To the rooms the corridor is located outside. There were no fridge in the room and no bodylotion. Soap and conditiner were included and also bathrobes and slippers since we booked also entrance to the spa. There were kettle in the room, but no airconditioner. All most too warm to sleep and you could hear noises from the other rooms. -Breakfast was really good and located in the restaurant with a river view. There were anything you could hope for. One of the best breakfast I have ever had. - Spa area was nice with different kind of saunas and jaguzzi, hot springs, cold pools, cold shower, relaxation shower etc. Only one pool, and the water was freezing since it located outside. You could drink drinks from the bar, which was nice. Not so suitable for children, more for adults relaxing and having cocktails in jaguzzi.

Kylpylä oli kyllä todella hyvä. Huoneet perus siistit. Lämpimällä ilmalla saattaa olla kuuma, kun ei ole ilmastointia. Hyvä aamupala ja ystävällinen henkilökunta. Tulen toistekkin

Mycket bra service, bra frukost, god mat i bistron. Vackra omgivningar med många natursköna upplevelser. Möjlighet att ladda elbil och kostnadsfri parkering. Serviceinriktad vänlig personal. Oerhört lugnt och rofyllt ställe.

We visited Cape East for one night in July 2023. The staff were friendly and everyone spoke either Finnish or English. The spa was nice, including different kind of saunas, warm pools, cold showers and so on. Locking the locker in the spa with the hotel room card was impractical because the room card had to be carried in the spa. The restaurant was cozy, and our dinner was excellent. We had to wait a long time for the food, even though the restaurant was not fully booked. We had a superior room, and the room was the weakest link of our visit. There was no air conditioning in the room, only a fan. Fortunately, the weather was not very warm during our visit. However, we did not come to Cape East to spend time in the hotel room and we enjoyed our stay.

There was a bit chaos and waiting at the reception for the days we was there, but the staff did all their best. Will probably be better in the future. The price to use the Spa is totally crazy. Not worth it. It's a small spa and half price would be more then enough.
The breakfast building is built very strange where you need to move gently into a narrow room to find the first part, next part with warm food and bread is in the next room that is even more narrow. It works but should have been better organized, as well as tables/seating. To many tables for groups, should be more separate tables.

Dinner and breakfast were very good and served in a nice old villa. The other buildings of the hotel were not so nice. Rooms had apparently been somewhat renovated, but very basic and tobacco smell was lingering in the room. A lot of people staying in the hotel and camp site, but this was not for us.
