Hammamet Garden Resort and Spa

J'ai beaucoup apprécié ce lieu qui est propre et calme. Cependant, on a attendu 1h avant d'avoir notre chambre. Et celà est juste insupportable sous une chaleur de 37 degrés.

We are currently on our third room and still have issues which the hotel are doing everything to make these right. Air conditioning not working,balcony door not opening/closing, stained bed pillows without protectors,excretment splashes on toilet wall,broken and dirty skirting boards.. it would appear the overall hygiene and cleanliness of this property is not up to standard. The hotel grounds/gardens are unkept and dirty. Overgrown tree’s,shrubs and grass, which are desperately in need of Maintenance, clearly a health and safety hazard. The restaurant is in dire need of some organisation along with a deep clean as everything is sticky. The floor is always wet with spillage and utter chaos, children running around wild. The food leaves a lot to be desired, no serving utensils and worst of all food not labelled. Cups, plates and cutlery dirty.. Maybe a two sitting rota at meal times would ease up the congestion. The pool with waterslides, take note that life guards were not present on a regular basis. We witnessed a couple of near fatalities by children left unsupervised by their parent (employee) at the hotel (trip seller) he left his children whilst working onsite. This needs adhering to as a matter of urgency. The walk way to the hotels beach through the back door is a construction building site. No mention of this by the hotels supplier. Luckily for us we were heading to another hotel as we are here for 3 weeks however, that’s not the case for everyone. In over 20 years of visiting Tunisia, never have I witnessed such a run down shabby hotel. I may add that the staff did do everything they could to help unfortunately, I did have to escalate the matter to the property supplier and agent and we are still awaiting their response.

1. described as 4 star , I would not even rate it 2 stars . Worst Hotel I have seen. 2. Carpets are filthy , repairs to property needed everywhere 3. We had 3 rooms , our view was a building site with cranes 4. Food was OK , but no English Breakfast , just Omlette , you have to beg for bottled water, no pure orange juice, just diluted rubbish. There was no labeling in English . 5. Beer was awful as it was one choice , only one choice drinks no cocktails . The barmen were awful as you could only get a single shot and only for yourself. The bar stops serving after 11pm . 6. Bedrooms had no iron, no tea or coffee, no safe , not cleaned every day. Outdated decor and linnon. 7. Reception staff were pushy and trying to sell trips everytime 8. Entaintainment is only for children upto 9 years old . 9. Waiters in Dining room expected tips everyday and each time you ate, or you do not get a seat. 10. Dining room was always full, short of seats and table and cutlery - far too small. Had to wait in Big queues to get any food.

HOTEL The Hotel is clean and tidy, the staff are always about cleaning and they've always smiling and saying hello good morning etc. FOOD As an adventurous type, I love to try the food of the country I visit. I get annoyed when people complain "Where's the Burgers, Where's the Chips" etc. If you want English food then go to Blackpool. The Tunisian Food is awesome and well worth trying. The potatoes are the best I've ever had and cooked to perfection in various ways. Some of the food can be quite spicy because they cook with Harissa but I love spicy. Meats are Chicken, Lamb, Veal, Beef, Liver and Fish, they are all cooked well and so many different flavours. For the fussy eaters there are plenty of Pasta dishes and YES there's CHIPS. Breakfast there is freshly andmade pancakes, Tunisian type of Doughnuts, omelttes made to how you like it. There's also meats cheese salad and even cooked Tunisian breakfast foods. ROOMS The rooms were absolutely spotless, in fact they were better than a lot of other hotels I've been too. Clean Towels were provided every day and big bottles of water for your fridge. Beds were quite firm, but that's how I like it. POOL There is a huge pool which was clean and never felt cold, it starts and ankle depth for the small children and goes to a deep end (about 6ft 4in), there is float rope that seperates the the deep from shallower waters. There's is a seperate pool with a few flumes for the kids to slide down and adventurous adults. STAFF I'll start with Sonia the who works on reception, this lady will bend over backwards to help you and has a smile on her face all day (please apologise to her for me, I totally forgot to give her a tip for all the help she gave for our family "party of 8") A special mention to Manwah and Mohammed in the hotel bar, they were great fun, always had warm welcome and dealt with our large family with ease. The restaurant staff were so efficient and if a table came available it was cleaned and cutlery napkins replaced in the blink of an eye. Outside bar staff worked very hard and would come and see if we wanted fresh drinks. ANIMATION TEAM These guys are incredible, they work so hard to keep you entertained organising darts, table tennis, waterpolo aquatic, French bowls gym etc. The kids entertainment in the evening seemed to be aimed at very young children and nothing for 10-15 year old and unfortunately repetitive, hearing the same songs and routines every evening drove me crazy . Adult entertainment was bingo/tombola BEWARE they tell you prizes are massages, sheesha and you get handbags and cheap souvenirs (I'll explain in my NEGATIVES Section) This followed by various shows like folklore, Mr&Mrs (hysterical) Caberet show. DRINKS Good variety of spirits, Whiskey, Gin, Rum and Vodka. Beer is a very nice lager and a good strength. Mixers are Fanta, Sprite, Coca Cola Sweppes Tonic. Not 4 star - pushing a 1. no air con they are blagging saying it’s being serviced. It’s not we looked at it on the roof it’s dangerous, pipes exposed, Run down, dated, dirty. Building works in view starts 6am. Room grotty, carpets dirty. Drinks dispensers never working. Run out of glasses. Drinks in cardboard coffee cups. All awful. Mould on sun beds. Toaster broke and 2 forks left for people to get the toast out - dangerous!!! Ear rig in eggs. Pointed fly out to the chef which was in omelette mix, he spooned it out and pored the mix in frying pan. Bad organisation in dining room. No safe. Patio doesn’t lock. Lifts always broke. Needs a team to go in and sort it out. Glad to get home

Hotel is nice in the main areas. However the rooms are dated. It's a 4 star for tunisia so if you go expecting uk 4 star uk you will be disappointed. Staff especially sonia in reception are lovely. Helped with tips on getting around the area changing money. Food was nice obviously it's tunisian as your in tunisia. If your not willing to try it then don't moan about it. Animation team are really polite and ask if you would like to be involved in the various activities each day. The only issue I had was the guys selling trips for camel rides,atvs,pirate ship. It was constant for 2 days till they get the message then they leave you alone. Beach was lovely its a short ride in a clapped out volvo van but we walked it as it was only 5 mins. Private section of the beach for the hotel and security stop the sellers from bothering you. Drinks are not the best local beer and the cocktails are very basic and small coffee cups are used which mean constant trips to the bar. In all it was a nice time for me and my kids. I got what I paid for so am happy.

I have the best experience in a wonderful hotel with lovely staff members including samir, Sonia the reception team , Mr Ali baba thank you for your hospitality, the catering team did really well n really polite n friendly and last team will be the animation team Angela, bibo, wadi, said, Simon the newly trainee and the rest of the team amazing what a lovely show n attitude toward customer really well presented always get excited everyday to meet these lovely people n the smile is something else’s overall me n my family are well satisfied we recommend the hotel to everyone who want to enjoy the Hammamet animation show n adventured this place will welcome you as they own please keep up teams. I loved it here. The staff treated us like family, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort! I was so happy I didn't want to leave. 5 days was definitely not enough Also shout out to the animation team. Who did a great job entertaining us every evening. They got us up on our feet dancing and playing stage games. It was so fun There's loads to offer in Hamamet Gardens and spa and the staff try their best to make sure we are all entertained. Games such as table tennis and golf go on throughout the day, and there's even opportunities to get a massage, manicure or pedicure. I was rarely bored. The food here was delicious too. Chefs catered to our needs and made us fresh pasta as soon as we asked. There really wasn't much to complain about here

It was my first experience in Tunisia, on a solo holiday. When I got to the Hotel, I received a warm welcome, was made to feel right at home. I was happy with the room I was given. Sonia in Reception does an excellent job at making sure you have all that's needed and other team members in Reception were equally accommodating. The waiting staff too do a good job at looking after you. The spa team were great with the massages and the entertainment team do a really good job at ensuring all were entertained. The food was a variety of choices. My room met my needs, and the cleaning staff ensured the room was cleaned regularly, and fresh towels regularly. I felt looked after, and safe. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I do intend to return again, I felt a little sad to leave. Many blessings to you all.
