Signature Stay Inn and Suites

I booked online choosing a queen accessible room since I am travelling with an injured veteran. Stairs are difficult for him. We found out that our room was on the second floor. No elevators. He made it up but not easily. I had to drag our suit case and a bag up each step for two flights. Then we get into our room and it’s not an accessible room. I talked to the front desk who while I was making my concerns cut me off repeatedly. Nothing could be done. I decided to shower to find out we didn’t have a washcloth, bath mat, hand towels, & 2 medium sized towels. So my husband decided a cup of coffee would be nice. Although there is a coffee machine. There wasn’t any coffee/tea nor cups. I complained again and same thing happened he just cut me off stating they were doing renovations. Which there wasn’t any signs of that whatsoever. As for coffee I could go down the street to the coffee shop. Feeling dismissed I decided we could watch some tv: the channel changer didn’t work. You could turn it on from the tv itself but not control it. The phone has missing buttons and dirty. At least the bed was cleaned and we did perform the bed bug test. Nothing showed thank goodness! Never come to this hotel!! No recommendation from me!

We paid a premium price for our room because it was grey cup. The knob to turn the shower on and off came off in our hands, there was a hole in the ceiling where the bathroom fan would be and one of the lights was burned out over the bathroom mirror. We stayed for 3 nights and never once received any housekeeping services or clean towels. We had to go down every morning to beg for coffee for the coffee maker in our room. We were walking distance to downtown, the room was reasonably clean and our beds weren’t too bad. Be aware that there’s no elevator, so if you’re female, be prepared to lug suitcases up two flights of stairs. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Couldn't find the location of hotel, as there is no signage for the property. When asked about this at front desk...it was explained it is now a private hotel which was a recent change....no more franchises....why????....too many rules and regulations, especially downtown Hamilton. This property needs to be inspected and graded appropriately. The front desk people were okay. The hall ways and the rooms were not clean. There were crumbs all over the floor in different parts of the room. There were bugs in the sink of the first room we were in (I took pictures to show front desk). One hanger and two towels in the room....we booked for four people. We requested a room change.....they moved us to a room cleaned an hour ago. We were told to just take the towels from the first room and move them with us. There were still crumbs in the floor of the room. But we had to be somewhere to be within an hour of getting there so no more time to complain or request different hotel. Breakfast was minimal even for a continental breakfast( not hot breakfast) Juice machines didn't work. Coffee machines didn't work. Three juice boxes, four yogurts, two cereal bars, three slices of bread, butter/jam. When I let staff know they were low on food. Staff brought up a loaf of bread and replaced the bread by bare hand ...no washing, no sanitizing, no gloves, no tongs .......just the same hand he was just carrying up the supplies with. I would not recommend this hotel...unless these things don't bother you...if you just need a place to sleep.
