Finding The Last House is a challenge. There are none of the road signs you would expect. When we arrived, we learned that's because the proprietors want to keep away unwanted visitors. You see, The Last House is quite literally the last house designed by the famed architect Geoffrey Bawa. It's a beautiful villa with five or six rooms. The property offers a comfy sitting area, a nice pool and lounge chairs facing the beach. Our room was large, with a canopied bed surrounded by mosquito netting, and two showers. We liked the outdoor one. The Last House is indeed the last house facing the beach. You'll find other boutique hotels and lots of beached fishing boats to the right. The beach is about a mile long. There's also access to a smaller beach, on a path by the rocks to the left. We had a delightful breakfast at The Last House -- fruit, juice and yogurt with granola for me and eggs with bacon for her. Ananda, the general manager, is quite friendly and will answer all of your queries.
