Gyp Sea Saint Barth

I recently stayed at Gyp-Sea hotel in St. Barths, and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The entire experience was a letdown from start to finish. First off, the quality of everything in the hotel was abysmal. The furniture was cheap and uncomfortable, the rooms felt outdated and in desperate need of renovation, and to top it all off, the jacuzzi on our balcony was filled with bugs. Yes, bugs. It was not only disgusting but also completely unacceptable. This hotel markets itself as a luxury destination, but it's nothing more than a facade. Sure, the decor might look nice in photos, but don't be fooled. It's all smoke and mirrors. The reality is that Gyp-Sea is just an old hotel with a fresh coat of paint. The only redeeming qualities were the view and the staff. I will give credit where credit is due—the view from the hotel was stunning, and the staff were quick to respond to request. However, even their efforts couldn't salvage our experience. In any other circumstance, we would have switched hotels without a second thought. Unfortunately, everything else was sold out, and there were no available flights out of the island. Trust me when I say, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Gyp-Sea hotel. It's not worth the disappoin**ent.

Gypsea Hotel was an outstanding experience! During our stay the staff was more than friendly, very helpful, and always willing to try to help enhance our stay. They always greeted us with smile, asked how our days were, made recommendations, and went above and beyond. Ninon specifically at the reception desk was outstanding! We hope she stays around for our next stay! The hotel itself was very quaint, the room was very nice, and always well kept by the housekeeping team. Our only slight issue was we had a group during our last night that rented out the pool area for a party. We weren’t notified that there would be loud music until late in the evening. However we discussed this with the manager Yohan Adam, and he offered a quick resolution that more than took care of the disruption to our evening. With the exception to the last night party, the resort was quite peaceful and tranquil. The food at the hotel was excellent! We had a night of the “Chefs Table” and the chef was great about making custom menu recommendations and made our dinner very memorable. We also rented a Moke thru the hotel which was great…but note the company Cool Rental will require the car to be returned with a full take otherwise you will be charged for gas, but It was a great rental option and highly recommended. One of the best perks about staying at the Gypsea hotel was the ability to book sun beds at the Gypsea Beach location with free transportation to and from. The staff at the Beach club was also excellent! Overall I highly recommend Gypsea Hotel for your stay in St. Barth. We will definitely consider returning to this hotel for our next stay!

We had a fantastic stay and had amazing service. The room was spacious we had the family room that was called Passion Jungle, the staff took great care of the room, also great breakfast at the restaurant. The concierge took care of all our reservations we requested and was very helpful with suggestions.

Charming boutique hotel and spa, tastefully decorated. Quiet relaxing environment, excellent pool area. Staff was courteous and always available and accommodating. The relationship and benefits with the Gyp Sea Beach Club cannot be undersold. You drive down to St. Jean Beach, complimentary valet, and reserved access to beach chairs in a world class beach club/restaurant environment. You will not be disappointed.

The Gyp Sea Hotel exceeded our expectations on so many levels. The hotel is beautifully designed and situated atop Colombier Hill, overlooking the Caribbean. Our room was perfectly appointed and had a large balcony to relax and enjoy the view. What stood out the most throughout our stay was the staff. They were so kind, helpful and welcoming, always available to address questions, make a dinner reservation or provide recommendations. A true luxury and 5-star hotel! We look forward to our next stay!

My husband and I recently travelled to St. Barth and spent amazing 4 nights at GypSea. Transfer: We were greeted by an incredibly friendly hotel representative upon our arrival at the Gustavia port for a private transfer to the hotel which was a quick 10 minute ride. The vehicle was new, clean and stocked with water for us after our journey over from St. Martin (ferry was terrible as the winds made for a long, nauseating trip). Check in: Upon arrival at the hotel, the reception staff was absolutely amazing - I do wish we remembered her name but she was the absolute sweetest, ensuring our every need was met and providing us with a tour of the hotel and its facilities. Again, because I had a horrible ferry ride over, she went above and beyond to ensure I had water and even provided me with a basket of fresh bread to settle my stomach. Check in was a breeze! Room: Simply stunning. We were shown to our bungalow which was perched atop a hill which allowed for a lovely ocean view. The bungalow showcased a private, outdoor patio (with sun beds, chairs and a table), a comfortable living room area that lead to our canopied, king size bed (incredibly comfortable mattress and pillows), a separate toilet room near the closet area and of course, the well appointed bathroom which housed a double sink, shower and a claw foot tub. Everything in the entire cottage was very clean and welcoming. This is likely the most comfortable I have felt in a hotel and that says a lot. Turndown services was provided nightly and more toiletries and extra towels were a quick ask away! Dining: Breakfast was provided during our entire stay at the restaurant. We chose to eat near the pool every morning. The menu was well appointed and all items were made fresh to order and tasted lovely. We were greeted by turtles every morning which was a delight as they were obviously used to being fed and would hang around for any dropped treats! We also had the pleasure of enjoying a quiet dinner at the hotel one night. Our server was welcoming and very attentive. Food was good. Facilities: The lobby was warm and welcoming as was the restaurant area. The pool was a great place to get some sun and have a swim. We used the pool once and had the entire place to ourselves which was nice. My husband made use of the on-site gym. While it was a small area, it was empty so space was not an issue. It was very well equipped and maintained well. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity or time to make use of the extensive spa list but I do hope to return soon to experience it! Location: Located in the Colombier area of St. Barth, we enjoyed the quiet area around us, while being a stones throw away from everything else. Staff suggested a walk to Colombier Beach which was definitely a highlight of our trip. It took 40 minutes from the hotel was worth the secluded beach at the end. We were also a quick 10 minute drive to Gustavia and an even shorter drive to the airport and St. Jean beach area

Incredible service and experience from everyone with a smile. Nice and calm energy in the hills. Rooms were large and clean. Nice little home away from home. We will return asap and see our friends again. Also the turtles are amazing. They join us for breakfast

The property was iconic in a sense of nature, elegance and service. The hospitality and staff were outstanding. The food and service were also all amazing. We had our anniversary and they cared so much for us even with a gift that was appreciated. Overall, the service was outstanding and we really enjoyed the stay

It is hard to overstate the hotel experience we had here. The hotel is impeccable, clean and curated to be comfortable but elegant. The staff is friendly and very professional. The restaurant was easily the best formal dining service I have ever had. The food was incredible. The property owns the most beachfront on the island just a few minutes away staring at the famous Eden rock. Our room was one of their Tropical Villas and the view is priceless. I really think I needed another star to give it 6/5.
