Fantastic place. I enjoyed a night here after a week of roughing it in Karamoja. It felt very luxurious and pampering and everything was just great. And all for a very reasonable price too. I would love to come back again.

Great room, although no A/C with the built-in fan it was excellent. Service was great and food didn’t take too long!! Great value in Gulu.

I stayed there for 1 night. It is a good option if you wish to make a stopover between Murchinson Falls NP and Kidepo NP. Nice rooms with nice garden. Staff very efficient. The food at the restaurant was not my cup of tea. Too heavy.

We had our 2 nights during the new year eve in Gulu at African Roots Guest house and food, staff were very friendly and quite, the room is clean. I highly recommend African Roots Guest house for your accommodation in Gulu.

This was my third time staying at African Roots in Gulu. Every time it just keeps getting better. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The showers are great. The decor is beautiful and local. I love the food at the restaurant. My group and I had onion rings, mozzarella sticks (amazing find in Northern uganda!), burgers, and stir fry. Everything was very good. The food took over an hour (which is expected) so just know order ahead and it is worth the wait. It is very easy to get to and is in a good neighborhood. I went on a morning run alone and felt completely safe. The staff were very kind and made the stay great. The family I traveled with has 2 kids and they also had a great stay.

Dormimos una noche de paso para el largo camino a Kidepo. Muy correcto, con buen servicio y comida. Las habitaciones son limpias y el servicio es atento. Al regreso de Kidepo paramos de nuevo para comer. Recomendable si vas de camino al norte, o a la vuelta.
