Fox Inn

Basic room with shared bathroom central Guisborough cheap at the price.

I wasn’t expecting much as I had not paid much for the room. I was shocked to discover that the room had no toilet, just a shower and a sink. I was showed the shared bathroom and assured I would be the only person using it, but the second time I went in, I found the toilet seat up, so clearly a man had been using it. The bed was comfortable enough but not a good nights sleep. The pub is very loud downstairs and doesn’t close until midnight. The bedroom door would not lock from the inside, I had to jam the door with a chair and did not feel safe. No option of breakfast and nobody there to check out. Had to exit through the fire escape and post my room key through the letter box! The location is handy for Guisborough town centre but I don’t think I would stay here again.

The bed was very comfy and the room a reasonable size. The shower was very small and every time we used it or flushed the toilet it sounded like an industrial drill was coming though the wall. Also there was a nasty stain on the carpet that looked like blood. Ok

Bar lady was friendly and welcoming. Food on the other hand was tragic. £13 for a pizza and I swear on sweet mother of pearl it was a frozen goodfellas pizza. I know this because I have the exact same one in my freezer. Now I don’t mind goodfellas pizza. But not when I’m paying £13.

We stayed at the Fox Inn for three nights while supporting a family member running the local marathon. The room was small and fairly basic, but the bed was very comfortable and it provided everything we needed. Having a restaurant and bar downstairs was convenient, although food service ended quite early over the weekend, so we walked into town for dinner. There is no traditional hotel reception; you collect your key from the bartender and use the back entrance when the bar is closed. The inn has no on-site parking, but a public car park is conveniently located about half a block away and was free on Sunday and the bank holiday.

The shower in room 7 did not work, it just dribbled. The room was noisy as it is on a busy road. It was very hot and we were very grateful for the fan when we enquired. There is no parking at the hotel but there is a car park nearby.

Lovely couple of pints in this pub before a meal at a local restaurant Friendly locals, nicely kept beer and a great atmosphere Would love this as my local !

Clean room. Quiet noisy window next to ventilation. Dated bathroom. Good tea and coffee. No breakfast available no on street parking available

Comfortable bed. Sadly shower temperature control was broken
