It was the perfect choice for a relaxing staycation. The room exceeded our expectations, being larger than usual, beautifully but simply decorated and very clean. The toiletries provided were excellent in terms of quality, variety and quantity. The service was exceptional, even with the hotel being quite full on the Saturday of the long weekend. A huge shout out to Ian, who went out of his way to help, provided service in fluent English, and even added our WeChat to make our stay more convenient. The hot springs themselves were well maintained, conveniently located and offered a good variety of experiences. No hotel is complete without offering up good food - and Regal resort didn't disappoint here either. The hotel has a western and Chinese restaurant. We enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner buffets very much, and even gobbled up a delicious pizza at the lobby bar. The lobby also has great live music performed by a team of Phillipino singers - we just wish it lasted longer, as 20:45 seems a bit early to stop the entertainment.
The only snag during our stay - we were refused entry by staff to the hot spring caves the night we arrived because we were dressed in non-swimwear, despite us clearly stating that we just wanted to view the facilities, not actually get into the pools. Apparently the policy states we must wear swimsuits to enter. I saw another guest experience this too, and thought surely common sense should prevail.
Other than that, it was a perfect experience. One of those rare occasions where 5* actually means 5*.
