"This hotel in 25 plus years can’t get past a 4 point review, for many reasons. Scroll the reviews if you wonder why! I understand the arrogant, pompous owners are being put out to pasture. Long overdue. Truly nasty, mean-spirited couple - oh dear… and the wife with ‘that voice’…the narcissist husband….Backstory: after spending over 30,000CHF during a 5 month stay, and weekly dinners in the Chinese Restaurant for 10 odd years, and given a letter (which I still have) to give to the Gemeinde as a reference when I first moved here, these utterly miserable pair gave me a 140CHF parking ticket for parking in their empty parking lot ‘off season’. Rotten human beings. People tell me the woman is a very jealous type. I can’t speak to that. Just know they are disliked widely. Happy to hear they are going. There will be many who will celebrate. As Friedrich Nietzsche said “People don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed. I will continue to speak it."

"Hotel lived up to our expectations - beautiful historic building, excellent food, attentive service, luxurious spa . We really enjoyed the half-board as the 3 course dinner provided was amazing. We haven't stayed at the other 2 big luxury hotels in town but I looked at them - and other than not having an outdoor pool, I think Le Grande Bellevue was the best combination of attractiveness and service - historic more than hip and luxurious rather than stuffy - and relatively speaking worth the money."

"I love this Hotel! I come here year in and year out mainly to attend the Menuhin Festival of classical music. From the railway station I walk through Gstaad, at a relaxed pace, and then along the Gsteigstrasse to find this hotel at the foot of the hills and mountains, in a wonderful and green setting, by the road. Overall it takes me around 15-20 min. The hotel is a jewell with very clean rooms, like the inside a cristal glass, with white and fluffy bed sheets like the first snow, in a Swiss authentic style. The breakfast is tasty and is included in the price. The owner and service are to the image of the hotel, excellent and generous."

"I stayed at The Bernerhof Hotel from 1-3 September, 2023. I reserved two rooms for my wife and I, and our two guests. We had a lovely stay. We received exceptional service from Bouchra Ftouhi at the front desk. She was incredibly helpful during our entire stay. Our guests were delayed by Zürich traffic. She helped them get their car parked, luggage handled, and helped them with late dinner arrangements. She also helped us with many little things throughout our stay, things that normally would have distracted from our positive experience. Needless to say in Switzerland, her multilingual skills were exceptional as well. The upgraded rooms on the third floor had a terrasse with a great view of the Höhi Wispile ski area. Parking was ample and simple, directly adjacent to the front door. The Bernerhof is on the car free promenade in the center of Gstaad. You can stroll for shopping, or a have a Znüni, Apero, or dinner. The hotel has four restaurants as well, with excellent food. We enjoyed going to Pernot right next door. They had an incredible selection of gourmet food and wine. The Bernerhof spa is ample and relaxing. Overall, the Bernerhof is a first class hotel at a reasonable price."

"We stayed for a week in the hotel for a vacation in Switzerland of 4 weeks; definitely the best experience we had in the country. The staff is very professional and friendly, it was a very nice surprise to find many of them to be fluent in spanish. The food quality is great. The SPA is elegant and gives the feeling of exclusivity. We appreciated the support from Olivier the concierge and the restaurant manager Romina, both of them extremely attentive and made our stay to feel warm and personal. Great Recommendation for couples, as the rooms are confortable, clean and with good taste, the breakfast, spa services, spa facilities, food and drinks options make it a good place for enjoying the beauty of Gstaad."

"As soon as we arrived in the hotel , started a loud noise of a drill machine in the apartment above us. And it continues the morning after. It was impossible to stay in the room. The hotel should be closed if they want to do renovation work or they should not make the apartments in the same area available to guests. It was such a lack of respect, and the answer that we received from the receptionist was that they can’t do anything. We spent 20 days traveling around Switzerland and it was the first time that we faced such a situation!!! Besides all of that the hotel is far away from everything; the lovely downtown of Gstaad is 2 km away. The accommodation is medium and the towels are old. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone."

"They amaze you in every way. All of them smile with warm heart and you don't feel like going back. Location is perfect with serene river flowing at a walking distance. Rooms are spacious and neat, clean & well maintained with all the necessary amenities. The Food at "Pizzeria" is delicious. It is 30 mins from Glacier 3000 and bus stop is 5 mins away. They provide free transfer both ways. What more we can ask for? Definitely will be going back again! Other Swiss hotels should learn from you."
