Lenkerhof Gourmet Spa Resort - Relais & Châteaux

The first thing that struck me was that hardly any staff, apart from those at reception, spoke Swiss German. The rooms are comfortable and truly five-star. We booked a Premium Junior Suite, which was very modern and came with all the amenities you could hope for. As for the restaurants, they offer a "dine around" gourmet package for CHF 96, which is not only overpriced but also underwhelming. The food is far from exceptional and certainly not out of the ordinary. Both Spettacolo and Oh de Vie serve what is marketed as gourmet cuisine, but the execution doesn’t quite live up to the promise. If you want something simpler, the bar is your only alternative, offering à la carte options like burgers and casual fare. However, it's not included in the gourmet package and doesn’t have the atmosphere of a proper dining venue. The food quality can be disappointing. For example, the octopus we had at Oh de Vie was undercooked, which is simply unacceptable. If I want raw octopus, I’ll order a carpaccio. Service at Spettacolo is also very slow — you might wait over an hour unless you reserve a table for 6:30 PM. On a more positive note, breakfast was well-organized, with a good selection and attentive service. The bar lounge itself feels rather dull, and unless you're sitting directly at the bar, the staff tends to ignore you. Overall, I honestly think they can do better. The village is just 5-10 minutes walk so you might like to book bed and breakfast and dine out.

Awesome service and delicious food at the gastronomic restaurant. However half of the spa is closed until 2pm every day due to “ecological” reasons. The rest of the spa was completely full on a Sunday, not the kind of relaxing experience you would expect.. nevertheless this is a great place to stay at!

We stayed for a couple of nights at this property at the end of July to unwind in the Simmental. We enjoyed the stay as the valley kind of ends in Lenk with views of mountains such as the Windstrubel, went to hike, explored the village, and above all, as the weather was unstable, enjoyed the spacious spa area. In addition, the breakfast buffet was very good and the team was service oriented.

Such a great hotel. Staff is multilingual, friendly and dynamic. The sauna space is really good. It's comfortable and provides a good variety of temperatures. There's a corner for drinks and to chill. We loved it. Other than that, we had dinner at Spettacolo. Our favourite was the salmoned trout and it's vegetarian friendly. Other than that, the hotel is in a very quiet village where there are lots of hiking options. Another thing we liked was the singer in the evening - the bar was more lively than the standard hotel lobby.

Firstly the positives. Great location, surrounded by mountains, very well appointed spa area, comfortable rooms, a variety of dining options and most importantly a very friendly staff. Good live singer in the evenings (does make for a rather retro 70s feel but fun!) We enjoyed our stay and would likely return and can recommend but also want to provide feedback in the hope it is useful for future improvement So why 4/5 and not 5/5? Due to comparing like for like, a property that is in the 5*L category and charges ＞800 chf a night (see reviews of The Park, The Chedi etc), details matter. The first night we went to the pre-booked restaurant (Spettacolo) and initially told we were booked elsewhere (Oh Vie) until I showed them the email confirmation - a table was found but our dietary restrictions were not conveyed. On the final night (4) we returned to Spettacolo - reservation was made for 7.45, we arrived promptly at 7.40. We ordered water (still) and two glasses of champagne- water arrived as sparkling 20mins later (we didn’t change), champagne 10 mins after that and still no menus. After asking for menus they arrived with the wine list - we waited and had to ask a passing staff member to take our order approx 8.20 (the table next to us had already been served wine, even though we arrived just slightly ahead of them) - order placed we waited for the wine, which required a further reminder. Then at 9.20 we received our main courses, no starters ever received - the waiter did apologize but by this time we preferred to move to the bar for French fries and cheese; we settled the bill and even though we mentioned that we would go to the bar, no help was offered to transfer our bottle of wine and we took it and the glasses with us by ourselves. These details matter and the hotel seems to lack that serious attention to detail, also in house keeping twice items were not replaced and once they forgot to leave floor mats. Finally, at a hotel of this calibre, one expects high quality cocktails, twice dry vodka martinis were anything but dry - hence the 4/5

Magnificent stay at Lenkerhof! The service was impeccable! Nicole coordinated the wedding that the property hosted and it was PHENOMENAL! She was so attentive, patient, and kind. She anticipated every need and made it so special. Jonas at the restaurant was amazing as well. He made the experience so memorable and fun. Five star service! Antonio and Eddy provided amazing service and took the time to make us feel special and recognized. Dennis at the bar did a great job making sure we didn’t go thirsty. Thank you to everyone. We hope to return again someday!
