Hotel America

Can’t imaging such perfect place just next to the Alhambra Palace. And the staffs are all nice!

Extremely unwelcoming front desk. Very far from a quality hotel experience. Bar completely empty but denied us access saying it was “full”. Interior very dark and scruffy. Went instead for a glass of wine at the nearby Parador, which is welcoming, smart and much better quality

We were very happy that we chose to stay at this Hotel. Staying onsite allowed us to get to the 8:30 am booking very easily and it was lovely to have a place to rest from the heat of the afternoon. We visiting the Nasrid Palace in the morning, followed by the Generalife. Then we were ready for a nap. We visited the Alcazba about 1 hour before closing, watched sunset and there were no crowds at all. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The garden restaurant is absolutely lovely and is such a nice place to take a break (I recommend it even if you aren't staying here). The room is small - but many places we stayed in Spain had small rooms. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. If you want 5 stars - go to the Parador. We thought this hotel was absolutely lovely and a good price, considering its location. It was lovely to walk around the grounds in the evening. You can't access any of the gardens but it's lovely in the morning and evening when the crowds have gone just to wander around the public areas. We got a little lost trying to figure out how to drive up to the hotel to drop off our bags, but we figured it out on the 2nd try. Then, we parked our car at the bottom of the hill in the public parking. We walked into town each night for dinner, which was lovely. The walk back up the hill after dinner was well lit and very pretty. If I was to do this again, I would choose to book the ticket that allowed a night visit of the Nasrid Palace, and then the other areas the next day (just my opinion).

As you step into the small, somewhat cramped reception area at Hotel America in La Alhambra, you see just beyond a small courtyard cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. Our first morning, we ate at the cafe, where Angelo, or “Angel,” as he like to be called, is in command, scurrying about tending to everyone’s needs, while cooking up the meals in the kitchen. The eggs were the most beautiful and tasty eggs I have ever eaten. When asked, Angel humbly admitted that the eggs come from his chickens, which he “lovingly” tends every day to enable them to produce such amazing eggs. I highly recommend anyone staying in the area to try Angel’s breakfast eggs, as they are, to use the old adage, “to die for…”

Staff are all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Lovely comfortable room with good air conditioning, and a nice big balcony overlooking the courtyard. We got the C30 bus from the centre, easy and convenient. Personally, if I was there for more than one night, a small fridge to keep water cold would be very welcome.

Amazing people in an amazing hotel uniquely placed inside the magical Alhambra grounds! The staff are just awesome! Helpful, intelligent and knowledgeable. They go over and beyond to make us happy and welcome in their magical establishment. This is our 3rd stay at Hotel America. Time stands by but the charm and magic keep on growing. Thank you Judith, Gabriel and Fernando and all the staff for making our stay in what we regard as our home as memorable as ever!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this charming and unique hotel, which I can only describe as "nestled" within the Alhambra grounds. The staff were exceptionally warm and hospitable, and very competent. They accommodated my quirkiness with grace, made invaluable suggestions, and helped arrange transportation, etc.. The breakfasts in the courtyard were delightful as was an afternoon glass of local wine (actually two) that I enjoyed there as well. My room was comfortable and had what I needed. I recommend Hotel América highly... but you do need to be prepared for an uphill hike returning to the hotel from most places in Granada that are not Alhambra (or just take a taxi), but the hike is worth it!

Great location, within the Alhambra walls. A charming hotel and staff were very friendly and so helpful. Our room was as described, traditional, clean and comfortable. The breakfast and service was great. Would definitely stay here on another visit to Granada.

A wonderful experience. You are based in The Alhambra a short walk from all the different areas of the Palace. Authentic Spanish style hotel. Fabulous courtyard restaurant with lovely food and friendly helpful staff.
