Our impression of Parkhotel Görlitz is quite ambivalent. The location is very convenient if you want to stroll around the old town, and is also very close to the two bridges over to the Polish side. The hotel offers parking in the basement, which is opportune for guests arriving by car. The rooms are also very pleasant with agreeable colours and furniture. The bathroom has elegant tiles of what seems to be marble, but appears somewhat old and worn- especially in the shower area where there are spots of corroding metal and lime. For some reason one of the rooms were lacking a mini bar as well as several light bulbs, which was a mild annoyance. It can also be noted that the room had surprisingly few power outlets, which is a problem when there are many phones and PCs to charge. We also reacted to the energy tax of 7 EUR for two rooms per night. Although we are aware of the energy issues in Germany, we stayed at 4 other hotels in the country in the same period and this is the only hotel were this tax was applicable. The breakfast was not particularly impressive, with few cold cuts, no bacon and (one day) half-burned scrambled eggs. One the most negative aspects however with our stay was the staff, with the exception of the receptionists who were generally welcoming. The breakfast staff (especially one middle-aged woman) appeared very ill-tempered. When she forgot to bring our group coffee and was reminded, she gave a sulky reply and almost slammed the coffee mug on the table. We were also not satisfied with the cleaning staff, who did not change the towels even though they were placed on the floor, who didn’t seem to vacuum the floor as we found nuts by the bed, and did not change the dirty glasses- only rinsed and placed them on the bathroom counter. All these aspects were not very weighty in themselves, but as a general impression they were to many to overlook and not aligned with what one can expect from a 4 star hotel.

2nd time at ParkHotel Goerlitz. Rooms /Bathroom are simple & clean. Not sound proof so hopefully your neighbor guests are considered between 10pm & 8am. Have some patience with check-in, but really not that long. Front Desk Staff was professional and courteous. We chose Bfst with our stay for convenience and it was acceptable. Staff was friendly and stayed busy with a full restaurant. Parking Garage is convenient, especially when it is raining and in the winter. You can walk to Ober & Untermarkt about 10-15 minutes. I would return next time I am in Goerlitz.

We’ll start with the (few) things which were acceptable. Our (“superior”) room was a reasonable size - albeit the decor, while in acceptable condition, was outdated with multi-patterned wallpaper and clashing carpet. The bathroom was satisfactory. One of the big failings was breakfast. One morning we had to wait with a crowd of other guests for a table and every morning the food was poor: rubbery scrambled eggs, only two hot dishes, only a few types of cheese, mainly processed meats, a bowl of mixed fruits on one occasion with no separate fruits to choose from, only two flavours of fruit juice. Not 4 star quality – or even 3. Further, for all three of the days we were staying, the restaurant was closed (and it’s quite a walk to restaurants in the city). Not acceptable for 4 stars – or even 3. Some staff members were very helpful (4 star) - but a few others were unhelpful and rude (0 star). Prices would be acceptable for a 4 star hotel – but are too high for the quality of services we experienced. We cannot under any circumstances recommend this hotel; some of its main services were very poor.

Schön gelegen im Stadtpark, direkt an der Neiße ! Zimmer sehr geräumig und gut gestaltet, mit Sitzmöglichkeiten. Frühstücksbuffet prima, Abendessen sehr gut ! Kurzer Fußweg in die Altstadt, viel Infomaterial, Service sehr gut und freundlich. Leider keine Klimaanlage im Hochsommer ...

Das Hotel an sich ist sehr gut, das Frühstück reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich, es gibt ein super Angebot an frischem Obst. Das Arrangement inklusive Stadtschleicherfahrt war super. Einziger Wermutstropfen war, dass man ab 22.00 Uhr aus dem Biergarten vertrieben wurde, weil sich angeblich die Gäste massiv beschweren. Wahrscheinlich waren es die einzigen lauen Sommernächte des Jahres und diese konnte man leider nicht draußen genießen. Dafür wurde man um 6.15 Uhr vom eindecken der Früstückstische geweckt. Das Hotel befindet sich nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe zu Wohnhäusern, so dass sich neben Urlaubern! wahrscheinlich niemand beschweren wird.

Die Hotellage ist gut, zum Zentrum geht man ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß, das Badezimmer sauber. Das Frühstück war gut und ausreichend. Cappuccino gab es leider nicht. Lt. Aussage des Personals ist die Maschine defekt. Das Restaurant hatte geschlossen. Im Zentrum finden sich genügend Möglichkeiten zum Essen.

Was erwartet man, wenn man ein **** Superior Privat Hotel bucht ? Buchen Sie eine Nacht im Parkhotel Görlitz. Ich komme nach 550 Km Fahrt dort um 19.40 Uhr an, checke ein und stelle fest, es ist eine große Gruppe Oldtimer Fans im Hotel, die sich gerade über das Abendbüffet hermachten … na mal gucken. Auf meine Frage, ob ich denn im Hotel irgendwo, abseits in Ruhe was essen kann, bekomme ich folgende Antwort: “leider nein, wir haben nur einen Koch, und der ist mit der Gruppe beschäftigt! “ Auf meinen Hinweis hin, dass es sich um ein **** Hotel handelt, guckt die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption nur mitleidig.

Haben hier als Paar zum Altstadtfest übernachtet. Rezeption sehr gut, die Bedienung an der Bar sehr flott und zuvorkommend. Unser Zimmer war mit zwei Rieseneinzelbetten ausgestattet, Bad mit Badewanne, sehr komfortabel. Wir werden wahrscheinlich im nächsten Jahr wiederkommen.
