Salkim Cave House

I have to share my terrible experience with Salkim Cave house for 3 nights in Cappadocia. Before our arrival, I asked information about hot air balloon and other tours with them, I got better price later so we booked with other agents, I told him we got better deal before we book and he said “you can choose”, but he still booked hot air balloon for us without confirm with us, there are misunderstandings between us, when he found out we have booked with others and he has to cancel his booking, he was so angry, he blamed me for that, and when we arrived the hotel, he showed his unhappiness from the beginning to the end, which made me felt so bad, honestly I don’t think it’s my fault, maybe I should told him directly that we booked with others because he is more expensive, but he definitely should confirmed what he booked for us, I said I’m sorry many times , I said it’s first time we come to turkey and I’m sincerely sorry for his inconvenience, hope we can let it go and we want to continue our holiday. But he just won’t forget about it, he shows hate and what I can’t believe is, he refused to provide us breakfast which is included with the booking, this is really unacceptable. I have travelled all the time but never been treated like this before. If we’re not travelling with our 4 years old son, I definitely won’t stay with them. I would rather dragging my luggage in the mid night and looking for somewhere else. my son is hungry in the morning but we couldn’t find many restaurants open in town until noon. For what I know during our stay in kappadocia, the ballon and tours he provided are all €10-20 more expensive each person than what we booked, that’s no big problem, but he shouldn’t hate his guests just because we didn’t book tours with him, he should know that they are running an accommodation not a travel agent, the most important thing is to provide nice accommodation and service for guests, he never shows smile and the only one time he talked to us during our stay was the day before we leave , “when you leave tomorrow?” He asked, still with long face and even phone on the ear. No please no smile. I honestly don’t know why he hates us like that. The other reviews mentioned how nice he is, I really wonder if we’re talking about the same person. For the three nights we stayed, I couldn’t sleep and keep thinking of what he said and his bad attitudes, I felt so bad and I don’t think we deserved this. When we checked out I asked politely how I can make a complaint with them, he said “ you want complaint? I’m the owner, the son of the owner “ which means they don’t accept any complaint I guess. “You can leave on google” he said. So will I. Our kappadocia experience will be much better without staying with Salkim Cave house.

This hotel made our Turkiye trip very memorable!!! yunus is a super duper guy and makes his guest very comfortable and always ready to help !! He found us a balloon ride at very reasonable price when black marketer shot up the price!! Jalal too is amazing and very nice guy. He made our check-in quite smooth even though we arrived at hotel by 11 PM!! Highly recommend this Hotel if you . P.S you will have a cute dog (Baloot) along with balloons for your next IG picture:):):)

The people at the hotel were extremely kind and friendly. However the conditions of the hotel could be better, there is no natural plants and the decoration of the rooms may be improved, but in general very nice place.

Highly recommended hotel in Goreme 👌🏻Just a small 6-7 room cave hotel. They have everything you need. The stuff is very responsive. You can ask for transfer from/to airport just for 7€ (any airport November 2022), any kind of excursion or hot air balloon experience, car rent or any other information. The breakfast is homemade, prepared just infront of you. Looks like you have family breakfast all together with the cook and other guests. It is not a buffet, they bring you all the meals and drinks, ask if you want something in addition,) I had my birthday during my stay, so the superior cave room was prepared with a cake and a bottle of Cappadocian wine, glasses, candles etc. Just an awesome attitude from the hotel runner - Yusup. He will wake up just to be sure you are on time for your transfer or stay longer awake to let you know the information. The hotel is pet-friendly, as Yusup has his own friendly doggy-dog Bulut,) There is a rooftop terrace where you can meen the sunrise and hot air balloons show or just relax and have your tea/coffee/wine with a spectacular view of Goreme town. Feel like home there!

The staff went beyond what is expected, helping to arrange experiences and making us feel welcome. We experienced some of the Turkish culture by talking with them. Food was excellent. I can’t say enough about what an enjoyable time we had. The tourism industry here is also very organized and takes care of the visitors.

Exceptional service from Manager Yunus. He sorted out a couple of traumas for us, always there for everything we needed. Super spacious room, amazing breakfast, great roof terrace to watch balloons at sunrise or just chill with a beer

Wonderful peaceful environment, Younus is very wonderful and friendly person. Salkim is Highly recommended for visitors who wants to enjoy pleasant, relaxed and friendly environment . Breakfast is very very yummy. Good restaurants are are around for lunch and dinner.

Yunus is the best hostess I had ever met. The cave hotel was nice and very reasonably price wise. Small and cozy, close to the little town and to some nice restaurants. They have cave rooms and stone rooms. Yunus helped us with everything from arranging transportation and the hot air balloons at better prices than average.
