Gabbiano Azzurro Hotel & Suites

I have nothing bad to say about this incredible hotel. Location is perfect - 20min from airport and walkable to restaurants / harbour. Short drive to local towns, and other beaches, however we found this hotel beach and sea the best in this area of Sardinia ! The service was excellent with such happy generous staff, breakfast buffet was incredible with so many options for all, and the facilities and restaurant were absolutely beautiful. Not to mention the amazing rooms with the best views of the sea front. We stayed in the rooftop pool room, with our own private pool overlooking the sea, I couldn't fault anything, such a special family run hotel.

We booked the Pool Suite (with a private pool) for over 6K EUR for 5 nights. NO WHERE did it mention the pool was NOT heated and unusable as it was too cold. The only reason we chose this hotel/room was for the private pool as my husband had hip replacement surgery earlier this year and not mobile to go to the beach. I went to to breakfast buffet at 10:15 (breakfast ends at 10:30) - the food was quite sparse. I had to ASK for eggs. If you spend that much money at a hotel, you shouldn't have to ask for ANYTHING. Pathetic service. We checked out 1 night early -- it has been OVER 4 days and the hotel STILL owes us over 1000 EUR. eMails are not answered. I have filed a complaint with our Credit Card company so they can manage it. We travel all over the world and this BY FAR has been one of the WORST hotel experiences in a LONG time.

we had a fabulous stay at Gabbiano Azzurro . Hotel staff were friendly and professional and our suite beautiful , very comfortable . myself and family stayed in the 2 bed suite with pool access and was easy to access the gorgeous pool which was never too busy as there is the amazing beach closeby . The sea in Sardinia is beautiful , lovely soft sand , shallow and clear and we swam each morning . we also stayed in the 2 bed pool suite , which had its own private pool on the top floor and spacious balcony overlooking a little marina . The hotel is within walking distance of Golfo Aranci, a little fishing port which has shops , bars and restaurants . Breakfast was self service and consisted of various fruits , cheeses , hams , breads , delicious yoghurts etc . I loved the honey served from the honeycomb . we also ate at the restaurant which i would definately recommend , the food is amazing , and quality excellent . A good variety of fish , meat and pasta dishes .

This is an impeccably maintained, expertly curated, stellar property. Picturesque location is even more impressive than photos. Beautiful inside and out, white washed rooms, appealing views and architecture. Visible attention to detail, lots of staff on hand. Perfect air conditioning, clean towels daily and a courtesy housekeeping “pass by” to offer more towels in the evening. Always 3 rolls of toilet paper in bathroom! It seemed to us that every member of the staff was intent on assuring the best experience. Ample breakfast buffet included, lovely pool on property and access to private beach which is stunning. We visited in August and the beach was quiet, water warm, blue sky every day. Very relaxing; recommend and plan to return.

Stayed here with family for 5 days and overall it was very pleasant here are my thoughts: Positives: 1) Great arrival, the staff were super kind and offered to take bags 2) Great airconditioning. It is very affective 3) Very clean and the room service is super kind 4) Barely any bugs and pretty dust free 5) Beach and pool area not too crowded and very spacious 6) Wheel Chair accesable 7) Very careful and considerate about allergies 8) Not crowded at all Negatives: 1) Suite is way too small. I dread to think what a normal room must look like 2) Wifi is terrible. It disconnects every 20 minutes. I have read that in other reviews it is to do with the building but they really need to do something about it as for a "4 star" hotel it is ABSURD 3) If you were to use an adaptor on top of your plug, when placing it in the socket in the wall it turns off the light switch which is an annoying design flaw 4) Room is super outdated for the very expensive price. It really needs redoing 5) For the price you pay, you barely get anything worth it other than housekeeping and beach access 6) Breakfast needs a much better buffet as there is barely any selection and a menu is much needed to order freshly cooked items from the kitchen 7) Gym is awful. It is way too small and only has 3 machines 8) Resturant SUPER overpriced. It is €20 for a simple pasta dish which is completely absurd baring in mind everywhere else it is about €15 9) At the beach, it is €4 for an ice cream from a packet which is crazy as everywhere else it is €2.50 10) Staff can be a hit or miss. Some are super nice where as others are rude 11) Very understaffed. Staff are under too much pressure especially at breakfast My main tips: 1) Do not eat in the hotel eat out for dinner. It is much cheaper 2) Only stay here for the beach not the luxury of the hotel because you will be super dissapointed

This hotel is a real gem in a beautiful area. The staff are helpful and recommended restaurants and booked some of them for me. The room was super clean, good aircon and had a lovely bathroom. The food was delicious. Unlike so many hotels today, it’s family run and feels like an authentic slice of Italy. It’s a great location - stunning beaches and lovely restaurants. Lots of Italians on holidays here too which is lovely.

This hotel has it all! The beach with ‘Maldives’ style water is literally 1 minute away with a straight access from the hotel; the Blu restaurant offers delicious meals, great view to the sea and a good service; the breakfast is copious; the pool area is my favorite with a breathtaking view to the sea and the boats; the room has a good size; and the receptionists are ready to help with whatever needed. Within a walking distance, you will find many restaurants and the lively center of Golfo Aranchi. There are many free parking slots nearby and a small closed parking for small cars. In a nutshell, the hotel has all amenities to make a relaxed holiday in Sardinia. There are of course things to improve but overall will highly recommend and will try to be back in near future !

Gabbiano Azzurro is a world class hotel and staying here truly felt like a dream. Upon arrival, we received the warmest welcome from the sweet, kind staff at reception. The hotel itself and the lounge is charming, bright and the perfect balance between elegant and rustic. We swooned at how stunning our room was; we had dual aspect 180° panoramic windows which made the room feel like you are sleeping and floating by the sea. Dazzling sunlight poured in and the view from our room number 106 was simply breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp cotton sheets. The bathroom was gorgeous too. Each day, the friendly housekeepers would return at multiple points to bring extra fluffy towels. Our room was ready early at 11 which was appreciated after a very early flight that morning. My favourite thing about the room was waking up and watching the sunrise from bed. The location of the hotel is fabulous on the Golfo Aranci, a coast which offers spectacular natural scenery along the cape. We loved exploring this area on a boat trip and enjoyed seeing a pod of dolphins very closeby. Golfo Aranci train station is walkable o- 20 mins. One of the beaches - Cala Moresca - used in a recent big movie - is a 1h hike from the hotel. Now to our favourite - the hotel beach! This beach was truly one of the most alluring beaches we found in Northern Sardinia - think calm, clear, turquoise shallow waters and white, fine, fluffy sand. The hotel buffet breakfast was excellent and had a wide selection of juice, fruit, cereals and muesli, hot breakfast goods, cheese, bread, cakes and so on. The breakfast waiters would bring you barista style coffees too. We enjoyed our experience at the Blu restaurant and we adored dinner at a gazebo on the beach. Having the beach to ourselves for dining during a radiant sunset, listening to the soothing tide was one of the most romantic moments of my life. It felt like a movie moment. Thank you to Antonella for arranging this. I’m a seasoned traveller and I’ve explored a lot of Italy - I found the pricing of this hotel to be competitive with other 4 star hotels of this calibre. There is something special about this hotel and I believe it is the team who go the extra mile to make it such a wonderful experience. It is rare to find such attentiveness, professionalism and sincere passion and pride. The team seemed to be very happy and well cared for and in turn the guests sense the warm atmosphere and culture. Nothing was too much trouble, the team helped us with requests for extra duvets and helped us arrange activities and taxis. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and at some point in the foreseeable future I yearn to return. I’m blown away by this experience. I’ve stayed at other amazing hotels, but this hotel has something unique. I miss this hotel, the team and the beach tremendously. Until next time. Ti amo, Gabbiano Azzurro!

Beautiful hotel with stunning location on the superb, shallow, sandy beach at GA with its private section, lovely outdoor pool and even a private jetty. Given a free upgrade to a sea view room as the hotel wasn't too busy. Great! Residents from all over the world, but particularly Germany the week we were there. Huge selection at breakfast - even sparkling wine. Room was spacious and well-designed with a good balcony. Good pillows - which is rare, even in good hotels. Very good air-con, which was much-needed. Very friendly and helpful staff (reception and cleaners especially). One quibble would be that the coffee at breakfast isn't great - if you want a milky coffee, it's always too weak, but that's a common issue all across Italy, I think. Because it is in the centre of GA, it is very close to the amenities, Railway station about a 20 minute walk. The Blu Restaurant was pretty good but the service slightly brusque at times. Bar also good.
