I have stayed at this hotel every year the past several years and had good experiences. Platinum member with Marriott. I think I got an upgraded room, but really didnt matter bc this was a solo trip. In the room next to the bed a pack of Nicorette gum w/ the gum removed and the chewed up pieces stuck back under the foil. I wanted to show the front desk but no1 came out to talk to so I left it at the front desk. No internet- at all what so ever, had to buy more data bc I use the free wifi when im on my ipad. wWent to get a coffee in their eating area after check in but the lights were not on, no diet soda in the “pantry” or in the vending machine, NO UBER EATS EVEN THO THEY HAVE A QR CODE at the front desk. When I was checking out, no 1 was at the desk again, I could hear staff chatting behind the wall but no1 came out…disappointed.

We stayed here one night in October 2024 driving south. It was a very nice stay. Checkin was quick and easy. The room was a little smallish, but very nice - clean. Bed was excellent. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Nice big bathroom. Good shower. Actual bars of soap, not the bottles of "body wash" most places have these days. Great rate! $103. The building looks new, but it has an older feel inside - not that many power outlets, old style light switches, etc. But everything worked well. Breakfast was good - standard fare these days.

Not all Fairfield Inns are created equal, some are better than others. This one is in the top ten: clean bright rooms, checkered tiles bathroom and walkways, clean carpets, large TVs and a very friendly staff at the reception. Arrival cookies and breakfast are included. Plus, we got the best recommendation for dinner: WY Rib Chophouse (separate review) **

Stopped in on our way home, the beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels, and the breakfast was delicious! Unfortunately they seem understaffed. There were crackers mushed into the elevator when we arrived and we’re still there when we left, and our shower didn’t seem like it was cleaned there was someone’s hair and other dirty spots when I went to turn on the shower. Other than that we had a great trip.

As Marriott Vacation Club owners, we always choose Marriott properties for our stays, and our recent experience at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Gillette was nothing short of five stars. From the convenience of check-in to the friendliness of the staff, every aspect of our stay was exceptional. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the pool area was a delightful retreat. This is, without a doubt, the nicest property we have stayed in! If you are passing through Gillette on your way to the Black Hills or the Tetons, this is the perfect place to kick back and get some rest for the night. Highly recommended!

OUTSTANDING! Very clean, quiet, well maintained room! Pleasant/helpful front desk staff. Excellent hot/cold breakfast provided (eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy, yogurt, cereal, waffles, muffins, etc.! 5 GOLD STARS. We have been in lots of hotels over the years this one is outstanding - except mattress was too firm!

We needed a room at very short notice on July 3 and the Fairfield came up trumps with a very pleasant room at a good price. Very helpful front desk staff - especially with our RV needing to be parked - and a good (included) breakfast the next day.. Great to take a really hot shower again!

On a long trip across the country, this hotel was the least expensive and the nicest of them all. I always book kind of a “mid range” hotel - not luxury because I just need a good night’s sleep, not a vacation, but I won’t stay in a dump either. This hotel exceeded my expectations, Nice room, comfy bed and good shower, lots of good breakfast selections, and nice staff at check in. I didn’t consider the pool/water park because I was traveling, not vacationing, so that wasn’t relevant to me. Only complaint was noise from the room next door but it quieted down after 10.

If you are going for the water park dont waste your time. Its a old facility that needs some work. Slide was closed, kiddie pool closed, jets inop on hot tob, the station that is part of the rain curtain looked like it was pulling from the concrete. Didnt matter because it wasnt working either. Misc tile broken. No towels available. When i called the desk she said she would send someone out in a while. In a while!!! 25 minutes later two girls showed up put about 20 towels out then sat down and played on their phones. If you want a water park find a functioning one.
