Villa Daphne

Spent a week at this lovely hotel in October. Described as small & friendly, certainly fit the bill. All staff very amenable & professional, nothing was too much trouble. Had an amazing relaxing time. Peaceful area, but within easy walking distance of beach, port & restaurants. A minute walk to the local bus stop & good public transport links. Special mention to the restaurant staff who worked tirelessly to provide guests with great service & high quality food & beverages, also to Claudia & Azzurra on reception who provided much info & assistance especially when booking trips & always with a smile. Thank you Villa Daphne for a wonderful holiday & a great base to explore this beautiful island.

What a fabulous hotel great service with a smile every day. The breakfast was delicious and coffee. The hotel was spotless. We had such a great time. I would definately recommend this little gem. Thank you Claudia, Azzura,Nino for your service. Was the best.

This little hotel is a hidden gem, great service very friendly staff and a relaxed place. I was solo but is better suited to couples I think, as I felt a bit lonely as I was on my own, but if you don't mind that then it is good for a private hotel experience. Food is excellent and so is the comfort or the bedrooms, great experience, Claudia on reception is so lovely. Enjoy this hotel it is very nice.

We stayed in Apollo, a small separate unit by the side of the hotel. Like others who’ve stayed there we really couldn’t fault it. It was pretty large with a good air conditioning unit which was certainly needed given the conditions during the summer. Beds were comfy and the unit was well maintained and cleaned daily. The hotel was overall in a quiet location although very convenient for the beach and there are various bars and restaurants close by. The bus stop to Taormina is only about a minute’s walk away. Although there are a range of bars and small supermarkets near by this is a quieter area and definitely not one for a nightclub style break. The hotel was quite small (only 30+ rooms) and very quiet, in particular we felt that there was very personal attention from the staff. Breakfast had a good range of hot and cold options and seemed very fresh. We had opted for half board, rather than the normal resort buffet we ordered from the menu at breakfast and it was freshly cooked that evening. Food was always of excellent quality and they were very understanding and helpful with allergies. Overall we had an excellent time and really can’t fault our time there.

What an amazing hotel. Literally can’t fault this place. It’s everything you can ask for when looking for somewhere to stay. Probably our favourite hotel I’ve stayed in. There are two free parking spaces outside the hotel but you have to be lucky to get them which fortunately we were lucky every time to get one. Rooms are spacious, lovely bathroom. Very clean and also gets cleaned daily. There’s a mini fridge with refreshments, (with a charge obviously) but it’s reasonable. We had a street facing room with a balcony, but wasn’t noisy at all. Breakfast was nice with a wide range of choices. And the pool area is nice and clean, although we didn’t use the pool as we’re beach people. You can sit outside too whenever if you want to have a drink during the day or evening and the bar also does food as well as drink. The beach is not far at all, within walking distance of the hotel, maybe a 10-15 min walk and there are bars and restaurants along the way as well as small a supermarket too. The bus stop is a 10 second walk from the hotel, which is very easy to get the bus to Taormina and back, or wherever you’d like to go. The staff are lovely and helpful, but I want to say a big thank you to Claudia on reception. What a genuine, lovely lady. Always smiling, always willing to help you and have a chat and give you advice and recommendations. Anything you need, ask Claudia, she is superb. We visited for 8 nights at the end of July 2024, the beginning of the summer holidays. The hotel is a hidden gem. Nice and small but with everything you could possibly want for your stay in Sicily. Our room was perfect for myself and my teenage son. It was cleaned very well each day. It has a small fridge with a mini bar, with a little room for you to store your own products. We booked bed and breakfast only. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was always fresh. Eggs, hams, cheeses, bacon, different cereals, fruits, salad, yoghurts, pastries and hot and cold drink options. The choices varied slightly each day also which we thought was nice. The coffee was good and you can take a small pot up to your room to enjoy on your balcony whilst looking over the pool or mount etna (roadside). The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly and Claudia on reception was very helpful with information on local attractions and tours which can be booked directly through the hotel. We did a cannoli cooking course which was fun. The local beach is lovely, only a five minute walk with plenty of options of beach clubs for sun beds and drinks etc. We preferred the local beach, it was less busy and cheaper for sun beds all day. The man Giardini Naxos beach clubs are a 15 min walk away and also nice, the hotel will give you a discount voucher for sun beds there. Within the local area there are plenty of really lovely restaurants to choose from and a supermarket nearby. The local market is nearby on Saturdays. The bus stop is pretty much just outside the hotel and it was very easy to get to and from Taormina which is a lovely place to visit. From Taormina, you can get a bus to Castlemola which was a highlight for us, beautiful mountain top village with amazing views for an evening visit. We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Daphne. We don’t tend to revisit the same place twice, but I think we may have to return. Thank you for the perfect holiday!
