Kinderhotel Kröller

Absolutely fantastic family skiing holiday. We have previously done various chalet-based family ski holidays in France, which have been great but we were persuaded to try Hotel Kroeller by friends who raved about it and we are so glad we did! We are a family of 5 and had a Chalet XL suite which was absolutely huge and well worth the extra money - although having seen our friends’ Chalet L suite that would be great for a family of 5 too, we just appreciated having a third bedroom and a second bathroom to give us more space. The ski school attached to the hotel was fantastic with our kids aged 8, 7 and 3, and worked seamlessly with the kids club as needed (and the kids club staff were excellent too). Our kids also loved the pool and water slides, and everything was so well thought out for families eg bowling and kids films on in the cinema next to the bar in the evening, having an assigned table in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner all week (with excellent food - I was unsure about a buffet all week but it was always excellent), snow playground right by the restaurant etc. The transfer from Innsbruck was only 75 mins even on a Saturday in February (so much better than hours and hours on a coach from Geneva/Lyon to the big French resorts). Yes you have to get a ski bus shuttle to the lifts, but it’s very efficient and the ski instructors take the kids directly from the hotel. The ski area is obviously smaller than the big French resorts, and it’s relatively low (mainly 1300m - 2300m) but we were pleasantly surprised - not that many black runs / moguls / off piste areas, but lots of nice red runs, almost zero queues at the lifts even in February, modern lifts, and pistes well maintained with good artificial snow making capabilities to top up where needed. For beginners/intermediates looking for lots of green/blue runs it’s perhaps not quite as well suited but the grading is a bit different in Austria and some of the reds were more like trickier blues - our 8 and 7 year old came down the red into the village and because the slopes weren’t packed it was fine. For a family ski holiday this really did tick all the boxes and we hope to return!

Wir waren als Familie mit 2 kleinen Kindern ( 4 und 1 Jahr alt) im Kröller. Es war von der Anreise an ein super schöner Urlaub. Wir hatten eine Familiensuite mit 2 Schlafzimmern. Diese war in einem schönem Ambiente. Skischule direkt vor dem Haus (am Hang des Almenhofes) Das essen war jeden Tag super lecker und abwechslungsreich. Unmengen an Kinderbespassungsmöglichkeiten. Softplay, Schwimmbad mit Rutschen, in dem wir jeden Tag waren. Kinderspielzimmer. Und selbst im Barbereich integrierte Tablets in den Tischen. So konnten die Eltern ihren Drink geniessen und die Kiddies spielen. Kino, Bowling uvm. Personal war super lieb! Rundum ein gelungener Urlaub! Wir kommen wieder!!
