Oakhurst Farm Cottages

We have been back to Oakhurst Farm 4 times and love it each and every time. Not only is it amazing for the children to immerse in the farm life and nature but it is soul enriching for the parents who can truly sit back and unwind amongst peaceful forest, farm and with the added bonus of a hot tub :-)

What an amazing place! We stayed in the Forge for 2 nights as part of our 3 week touring trip and only wished it was longer. We arrived on a very cold winter afternoon , a very hot , hot tub greeted us ! Fabulous. We got the fire going to warm the lodge up. Beautiful area , I’m quite envious of people that can come here for the weekend! We had a gorgeous breakfast basket and the lasagna from the farm shop . We had a trek out on the horses through the forest , what an amazing experience. We really didn’t want to leave . Run by very nice people.

We had the most amazing family burthday party at Oakhurst. 24 guests and the weekend was perfect from check in to check out. The farm manager who we dealt with is such a massive asset to the farm!!! She went out of her way in so many ways to ensure we had such a special celebration. Thank you Oakhurst. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We had a wonderful stay in Oakhurst this winter! Such a lovely time to travel to the beautiful farm - the days were warm and sunny and the evenings were cold! We enjoyed reading in front of the fireplace and unwinding in the woodfired hot tub! The walks around the farm were also great, with paths well-kept! The staff at the shop and reception were so friendly, and made us feel so welcome. We are already planning our next trip to Oakhurst.

Oakhurst is magical - everything about it is magical: the setting, the accommodations, the facilities (think hot tub!) and the people. The beds are just perfect - just like Goldilocks would want them. The shop serves delish coffees and snacks and sell wonderful food, treats and gifts. I was desperate for a visit and now I am desperate for a return visit.

What special place Oakhurst is. You are immediately welcomed in by the friendliest staff and all your dreams of living on a farm come true. Especially for the kids, who instantly become free range. There is so much for the kiddies to do. From visiting the stables, adventuring in the forest, bike riding, the play areas, feeding the chickens and horrses, helping out at the stables, fishing and more. The stable staff, Cathryn and Elias, were so gentle and kind to the kiddies, really making them feel special and getting them involved in the care and feeding of the horses. A highlight was the farm shop with all it's premade food and braai meat options, it takes the work out of having to plan and cater for all the meals. We were also even able to get the most delicious Bar One cake to celebrate grandpa's birthday. The cottages are cute and cozy and the hot tubs are the cherry on top. The cottages are adequately kitted out for self catering and the beds are comfortable. My only feedback would be that there is not really comfortable seating in the cottages. This was a great family holiday location. Every member of the family is cared for and honestly, if the kids are busy and having fun, then the adults get to have a holiday as well! We will definitely return.
