Good hotel with comfortable rooms (some have terrace, coffee machine, large bathroom). Breakfast buffet is good. We had diner as well in their restaurant and was very nice. Parking place are not easy in the area if you have a bigger car. Some rooms don’t have air conditioning… so can be very warm in the room. Staff is ok but not very friendly… typical Dutch hospitality…

Excellent in all regards, exceeded expectations. Just book it. Quality experience with friendly hosts, quiet rooms and spa facilities. Delicious breakfast. Great location in old town area. We enjoyed our dinner in brasserie next door also run by hotel owners.

Gosh what can I say? My husband and I loved this hotel. It’s old yet new and is superb. We have stayed here before and had returned because we loved it so much. The hotel is even better than it was a few years ago. They now have a small pool and saunas. The beds are super comfortable. The staff are great. The breakfasts excellent and the restaurants attached to the hotel are fantastic. The town of Gengenbach is beautiful. The hikes are beautiful. Eating breakfast outside in a walled garden on a spring morning well it doesn’t get any better. We would return in a heartbeat.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Except make sure you carty your physical debit card. Cash only in many stores. Contactless debit not possible with foreign debit cards.

We loved staying in this hotel in Gengenbach. Service is excellent. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The room was a decent size with all amenities for tea and coffee. They have a great breakfast and even offer a small lunch for free. We didn’t use the pool and spa facilities but they are available. It has a lovely restaurant sitting area outside to have all meals in summer. The AC worked well in our room and we looked out into a lovely view of the mountains. The only con was the shower. The floor becomes very wet as there is no threshold and for a four star I expected more shower amenities.

Such a fantastic hotel, the friendly welcome, complimentary drink on arrival, location and super rooms. The facilities are wonderful and the outside gardens so peaceful. Every staff member is invested in ensuring that guests are well looked after and go out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast is the most fantastic we have ever experienced and we can't wait to return.

Tijdens ons verblijf hebben wij 2 nachten doorgebracht in die Reichsstadt, een modern 4-Sterrenhotel in het centrum van Gengenbach. Een kleinschalig wellness boutique hotel met jacuzzi, buitenzwembad en saunafaciteiten. Bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, van receptie tot bediening, ontbijt en diner. We logeerden in een moderne ruime luxe kamer met een fantastische douche. ‘s ochtends gebruik gemaakt van het uitgebreid ontbijt geserveerd in buffetvorm met diverse warme en koude gerechten. ‘s avonds hebben we 2 avonden gedineerd in het restaurant van het hotel. Uitstekende keuken, top kwaliteit van de gerechten, mooie wijnen en kundig personeel. Het restaurant was wel redelijk aan de prijs. Al met al een prima verblijf, de moeite waard om nog eens terug te komen .

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen inmitten der historischen Altstadt. Beim Empfang wurde uns ein Parkplatz weiter entfernt empfohlen. Zum Glück war gerade Wochenende und wir mussten nur für Sonntag ein Tagesticket lösen. ( öffentliche PP) Das Gepäck mussten wir selbst zum Zimmer bringen. Leider hatte es keine Badeschlappen und kein Telefon im Zimmer. Man muss also Barfuss über den Flur und Lift zur Wellnessbereich gelangen. Die Wellnessanlage ist hübsch und gepflegt. Leider hatte es am Sonntag keinen Wasserspender so dass man selber Wasser zum trinken mitbringen muss. Naja der Service lässt leider sehr zu wünschen übrig…. Für 4 Sterne ein no Go.

Versteckt in der Gengenbacher Altstadt liegt dieses traumhafte familiengeführte Hotel. Wunderschöne Zimmer, ein Aussenpool, Sauna, ein Restaurant mit exquisiter Karte, ein mediterraner Gartenbereich... wir verbrachte hier ein Wochenende das der Entspannung nach einer ganzen Woche entsprach. Herzlichen Dank an Familie Hummel!
