Room Name: Maasin Upon entering the room, we were immediately impressed. The space was generous, both the room and shower room were well-maintained and tidy, comfortably accommodating all five of us. Initially, we had no complaints. Before heading out to explore the area, we freshened up and noticed that the toilet wasn't flushing properly. We promptly notified the staff, but it took them quite some time and multiple reminders to address the issue. In the meantime, we had to make do with using an outside toilet near the dining area. Although they attempted to fix the toilet, it remained dysfunctional throughout our entire four-day stay. It was quite inconvenient, as we couldn't even flush for simple needs, let alone more substantial ones! Another disappointment arose when we encountered the towel policy. They charged PHP 100.00 for every towel change and claimed that complimentary towel changes were only allowed every three days. We requested a towel change on the second day and even offered not to request one on the third day, but our request was met with refusal. Despite not being the most budget-friendly option, the service at this hotel was far from satisfactory. If possible, it's best to avoid it altogether. Our dissatisfaction continued when we prepared to head out for dinner the next day. As we attempted to lock the door, the key unexpectedly broke. The key looked old and rusty, and it was clear that it was only a matter of time before it would break. Nonetheless, they insisted on charging us (PHP 500.00) for the broken key. While we understand the policy for lost keys, it seems unfair to hold guests accountable for a key that was already on the brink of breaking due to its poor condition. Payag Suites failed to provide us with an official receipt for the charges they requested us to pay. Instead, they only issued a receipt voucher that one could purchase at any stationery store. When I requested them to provide an official receipt bearing their company name and registration numbers, they declined, stating that they were unable to do so. To top it all off, the internet throughout our entire stay was virtually non-existent. Trying to connect was a futile endeavor. All in all, our experience at this place was highly disappointing and certainly not worth it. It had the potential to ruin the positive vibes we had been looking forward to during our trip.
