Tenuta Sant'Ilario

We stayed here for 5 days and loved it. The views over the hills are amazing, really how we imagined Tuscany. It is in the perfect location for daytrips to Siena, Florence etc. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices and changing daily, we also had dinner there twice as we liked it so much. The staff was incredibly helpful as due to our delayed flight we arrived quite late to the property, they had the roomkey at the restaurant for us and we still had time to enjoy some dinner. Wine choices were amazing. The room we had was a little small, but very comfortable. The only thing I would improve is the road. The first evening we accidentally took the wrong road, eventhough the hotel had sent plenty of warnings and there are signs as well. Luckily our rental car survived, but the correct road is still a bit of an adventure…

I decided to have a nicer stop while walking the Via Franchiggena and it is just a bit outside of Gambissi Therme, so an easy walk here. Wonderful stay and resort (although in Feb and only for one night I probably missed all the nice things you could do here when the weather is nicer as the place looked beautiful). But even for a one night overnight stay, it was a wonderfully nice place. Comfortable bed and room. And the restaurant on site was absolutely wonderful--food great and prices very reasonable. Highly recommend a stop here for anyone doing the way.

The hotel was beautiful and the dinner at the hotel restaurant was great. The room was pretty clean as well. Alice at the front desk and our waiter at dinner were nice and helpful. However, when I got back from breakfast in the morning to go up to my room and grab my last things so i could check out, the cleaners told me i couldn’t go back in my room. Apparently they had already started cleaning it for the next guest and didn’t want me back in, even though i hadn’t checked out and it wasn’t even close to the required checkout time. It eventually got to the point where i ignored them and went in anyway and grabbed my watch and few other things. But the whole situation was absolutely ridiculous and extremely frustrating. It’s not my fault that they didn’t check whether i was checked out or not before they started.

We had a simply wonderful experience at Tenuta Sant'Ilario! The team that welcomed us is extremely polite and attentive, from reception, breakfast and cleaning. The facilities are wonderful and the restaurant is without a doubt where we ate the best food in all of Italy.

Villa was very cozy and nice! The room was elegant and you feels like in the castle. The staff was very kind and helpfull. The breakfest was superb!🥰 The bruschetta with tomatoes was perfekt! Everything looks very authentic!

Me and my husband stayed here during our honeymoon and we are super happy with our visit. The whole place is very clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone working there were always smiling at us and they all know good English. The breakfast was very good and they were able to serve me, who has coeliac, gluten free options. The area around the villa is fantastic to explore, and there are many cute and cozy places to sit down at, especially the terrace. The pool area was also great. The restaurant located next to the villa had excellent food, also with gluten free options, and the staff was very nice. The Villa sell their own wine, some snacks, and other drinks at the reception which was a very nice service for when you don’t want to go anywhere but just relax around the villa. We made a mistake of not renting a car and thought it would be easy to walk by foot to the village nearby and other places, but realised that it wasn’t very easy especially in night time. It was a good hike though from the villa to to Gambassi, but bring good shoes. However, the staff from the reception were so kind and helpful with finding us a driver and explaining to us how to best get to certain places. The staff were also super quick with responding to our messages both before and during our visit which felt safe and helpful. Me and my husband had such a good time here. The excellent service and quality of this place made our honeymoon perfect. A big plus point was the bottle of sparkling wine that was waiting for us in our room when we arrived the first day. We will definitely come back, and I would recommend visiting the villa to everyone. //Beata & Will
