My lovely wife and I spent two nights at this guesthouse when visiting Galle. The location is excellent, being right in the heart of the old city. But other than that, there's really very little reason to recommend it. We stayed in a family room with sea view. It's one of two rooms located at the top of a narrow spiral staircase so wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The room came with a double bed & a single bed. It is designed for three people but felt cramped with just the two of us in there. This isn't helped by the sloping ceiling that drops to around 5 feet high at one side of the room. The room itself was tired and in desperate need of modernisation. The mattresses are thin & uncomfortable while the towels & linen are well beyond their best before date. At least the air conditioning is effective. The bathroom is really small too. The rather archaic shower did, however, manage to generate hot water once you cranked it up. While the room was clean, I certainly wouldn't describe our stay as a comfortable one. We've been in Sri Lanka for four weeks now and at around 5,000 rupees per night this is one of the most expensive of the ten places we have stayed so far. It is also undoubtedly among the worst. Of course, you pay a premium for being in the old city but guesthouses really must do better than this.
