Bom hotel

Muffe kamer aan achterkant van hotel. Lawaai van straatverkeer en airco winkelcentrum is storend. Kamers aan poolside zijn beter. Slechte ventilatie in badkamer. Ontbijt in buffetvorm is ok. Parking in naastliggende publieke parking is goed. Alleen staat dit nergens beschreven en is voor nieuwe gasten wat zoekwerk.

We spent eight nights at the hotel on our honeymoon. The location is great in Lido with lots of great restaurants nearby. You can either walk or take a bus to the city centre of Funchal. We used the bus and never had a problem caching a bus that runs frequently. A couple of days we also rented a car and used the garage free of charge. We always found a free spot even though it was a lot of cars around. Quite narrow parking lots (but it's the same way in many garages all over the world). The breakfast is splendid with lots of fresh fruit, cold and warm food. They have everything you need. Sparkling wine is a plus. Yummie! They also have a chef making omelette. Pretty big breakfast area and never a problem to find a table. If you are picky I could only find one black tea. A greater variety of teas could raise the already superb breakfast another notch. And the eagle (in the picture) secures a relaxed breakfast outside even with seagulls looking for a treat (no seagulls dared to come close). I loved that we had the opportunity to talk with the birds caretaker and were allowed to pet the eagle. One day we asked for an early breakfast (before they open) which wasn't a problem. Thank you for that. That made our day when we made the walk from Pico do Ariero to Pico Ruivo. Overall the service at the front desk and all other places are at a high level. They came with good advices and helped us when needed. Nothing to say about cleaning that was made properly. I like the environmental program that let you decide on how many days you want cleaning (for every day cleaning was not needed you got a check to use in the hotel). The pool area was nice. Perfect size to even take a swim. But not to forget the inside area with jacuzzi and Finnish sauna as well as two steam saknas (with and without fragrance). My wife liked the massage that she took in the spa area. It's a hotel you could spend 24 house inside (but that would in my mind be a pity with the beautiful and magical island of Madeira to discover). We enjoyed our stay at the hotel to the fullest and would love to come back sometime.

Great location near the Lido restaurants and a short walk away from Funchal centre. Clean and spacious room with a well equipped kitchen and a separate living area. Quiet room and good air conditioning. The staff made our wedding day anniversary feel special.

The Four Views Monumental is very well located- only 20/25 mins walk into Funchal. It’s in an area called Lido, it’s a nice tourist area with some lovely views of the sea. You can walk down towards the pier and have a lovely walk around there. There’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel. There are loads of restaurants around the hotel so you are spoiled for choice. The hotel itself was really nice. Very clean, very calm hotel, lovely facilities i.e the pool, the indoor pool, the jacuzzi, sauna and the steam room. The pool and spa facilities are well maintained and very clean. Hotel staff are very helpful, pleasant and always smiling. The lady at the reception (whose name I can’t remember) recommended a nice Italian restaurant and a lovely brunch place which wasn’t too far from the hotel. Breakfast - was nice and had the basic necessities of a breakfast. Very helpful staff in the restaurant. Room - we had the sea view room, spacious, clean, AC worked perfectly, nice size bathroom and lovely balcony to relax and enjoy the views. Room was cleaned daily and the cleaners were very nice and friendly. Major plus of the hotel is the free car parking they have in the basement. you know in Madeira and especially around Lido and Funchal parking is limited and you have to pay. The hotel staff and in particular the receptionist Laura was very helpful the food was varied and plenty . The rooms clean and spacious . The pool area was pleasant there were plenty of sun beds. There was a shallow pool for children. Maderia,is a beautiful place the people are friendly . It is very hilly we loved our holiday here

This lovely hotel is well located in terms of Funchal & surrounding attractions.You can find bus stops near the hotel, if you want to go to the city center. I stayed for a week at this hotel. Despite being alone I had a room for 2, so I had plenty of space in my room with a balcony and a nice view over the sea. Breakfasts were great with a huge choice and also sparkling wine.  Upon arrival, we had the option of how many times room service was required, for each day they weren’t required they would give you €3 euro off the bar / restaurant at the end of the stay. They still checked hygiene products daily. Friendly staff and the cleaning staff are excellent. It was my birthday while I was there. My daughter and her husband also stayed at the hotel and her birthday was the day after mine, so the management very kindly offered us a dinner with drinks, which was a very nice gesture.

Excellent stay for 1 week, it’s a superb location for accessing the local area and Funchal. The hotel has everything you need, it’s warm and welcoming and the facilities are excellent. Can’t wait to come back. Swimming pool location and size is the best I’ve seen in a while, it’s square and not an odd shape so it makes swimming much nicer, plenty of loungers and places to relax. Beautiful views of the sea. If your considering this hotel then go for it, you won’t be disappointed 10/10 for us on everything Also the staff are very friendly, welcoming and look after your needs very well.

Fine hotel available on a JET2 package holiday. Apartment was well equipped but balcony very small. I would upgrade to balcony with sea view if staying again. Lots of good bars, shop & restaurants nearby. Easy access to Funchal by bus, taxi or on foot. Good breakfast. Pool was super but loungers need replacing.

This hotel is fabulous! It is spotlessly clean, all the staff are brilliant and so friendly and helpful at all times. No matter what time of day, I could always get a sunlounger and parasol. Yes there are one or two naughty people who bag a bed and then disappear for hours, but honestly they are in the minority. There are 3 areas for sunbathing and there were always loads of beds free at any one time, even round the main pool area. I stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, breakfast is buffet style and there was always plenty of choice, if you can't find anything to eat, you really ARE fussy! The "hot" breakfast items were a bit hit and miss, sometimes only lukewarm, which did put me off, particularly the eggs (but there was always someone available to make a fresh omelette if requested) so I ended up choosing cold food most days, the selection was plentiful. The safe is 15 Euros to rent for a week, worth it in my opinion, but I have to say, it's the first time I've EVER had to pay for one, they're usually included in the price of the holiday. Pool towels are also available from Reception - your first one is free, if you want replacements during your stay they are 1 Euro each. Water is OK to drink from the tap, although there is a nearby Spar that sells bottled water if you'd rather drink that. The hotel is doing its best to be "green" so there are coloured recycling bins by the pool bar and also in the rooms. If you don't want your room cleaned, for every day that you choose not to, they give you 3 Euros to spend in the bar in the form of a chitty to show to the bar staff. On non cleaning days, they'll just empty bins. There are loads of bars and restaurants nearby to choose from. Directly over the road and down the (very steep) hill, there are some lovely ones. As a single traveller on average I spent between 17 - 25 Euros on an evening meal; this included garlic bread, a main course, sparkling water and 1 or 2 glasses of wine. The hotel has entertainment on at the pool bar every night, some great singers, and one night was Madeiran Night where some folk dancers in traditional garb entertained in between the singers. I was actually quite happy sat on my balcony with a couple of glasses of wine and watching it from there. Bus numbers 1 and 2 will get you to the Marina area and back. Fare is 1.95 Euros each way, bus stop is literally across the road. A taxi back will be around 8 -10 Euros. There are lots more restaurants and bars down there. I was here while the Euro football championships were on, the atmosphere was brilliant on both occasions that Portugal played (and won!) If you are booking any trips, Lido Tours are very good, they are situated on the left as soon as you exit the hotel. The red open top hop on hop off bus tours also stop across the road and tickets are valid for 24 hours. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay again in the future if I were to return to Madeira. Final word of warning, it is a

Just back from a splendid 14 day break. Quick check in and our request for a high floor ,quiet room was granted. Breakfast good with plenty of variety had two evening buffets during our stay which were both really adequate. Great pool area with plenty of beds only downside was two days no mattress man on duty as the rattan beds are very hard, that is our only gripe. Some decent evening entertainment on every night.Will definitely return as the hotel is in a perfect situation close to some of our favourite restaurants and after the hotel revamp later in the year promises to be an even better hotel.
