The Lighthouse

Stunning accommodation in an equally stunning location. It’s one of the most tranquil places I have ever stayed. That’s Frelimo a very experienced traveller. Add to that the staff are incredibly attentive and the onsite cafe fully caters for celiacs with amazing cakes and drinks. My partner was in heaven.

We stayed for 2 nights in August 2024 as a base for a day trip to Longleat and The Lighthouse was a beautiful bonus. We only wanted a place to sleep but ended up enjoying the hotel just as much as our day at the park. We arrived Sunday and thanks to the early check in time (2pm) we were able to enjoy the hotel grounds, lake and park, it was truly a beautiful afternoon relaxing in the sun. The room was just as pictured on their website, it was truly luxurious and had all the amenities you could ask for. We enjoyed an evening as a family in the piano room with a glass of wine playing some of the games. Breakfast had a good selection of options, including toast, pancakes and most cereals, fruit, pastries and muffins. The hot food is cooked to order and really delicious, I would have liked the option to upgrade to a large cooked breakfast (we would be willing to pay a supplement for this). The bathroom was prefect with the added pleasure of a waterfall shower and large bathtub for relaxing. There were good selection of toiletries and the towels were very good quality. Returning from a very long day in the park on Monday to the room was wonderful, the beds were extremely comfortable and we fell asleep quickly watching the huge TV. I would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful place.

We only stayed one night but we found the owner to be very warm and welcoming. The setting is beautiful! The bedroom was very comfortable and everything we could want for our stay was provided. Breakfast was to order and very good. We would stay again and highly recommend.

Lovely hotel and Rowena the hotel receptionist really made us all feel welcome and she was so helpful, she is a credit to the hotel. Lovely superking bed . Great stay to visit longleat which is a 10 minute drive away. 10 out of 10 all round. We will stay again.

Very clean room. Fresh linen and quality complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Tranquil stay. Staff are excellent! The full English breakfast was freshly made and served well. Cafe on sight serves delicious food. Beautiful grounds and a great fishing spot. Animal friendly. Will definitely return. Great value for money!

A lovely autumn break. Fantastic accommodation on a beautiful estate, staffed by the most lovely people who make you feel home from home, and who more than happy to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is above and beyond expectation. The Lighthouse is a great place to stay and superb destination in its own right.
