Very good hotel

Ich habe leider nur 1 Nacht in diesem wunderschönem Hotel übernachten können. Die Lage ist oben aufm Berg, ohne Auto problematisch. Ich hatte eins 😬 Zimmerausstattung Raumverteilung Terrasse Ausblick überragend. Badezimmer etwas klein aber völlig ausreichend. Pool sehr sauber Sauna wunderbar und bis Mitternacht geöffnet. Terrasse oben sehr groß und wunderschöner Ausblick. Personal Rezeption waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und würde es jedem weiter empfehlen.

We went on a Monday for dinner and expected it to be a slow night. WRONG. Place was lively and we felt lucky to get a table. I had a very good piece of salmon with some asian inspired vegetables and noodles. My husband also shared a delicious wedge salad. We were just driving through; staying in a hotel near the highway. the real deal; this place was just minutes from the hotel and highly recommended....in the midst of mediocre chain restaurants.

The hotel is at just a 10-minute drive from the city center of Freiburg and the location is really nice. The view is spectacular and the hotel is well maintained. Unfortunately, the staff is totally incompetent when dealing with customers, and in some cases they even turned out to be unprofessional and disrespectful. Indeed, during our breakfast we happened to be treated rudely by an employee (whose name is Tamta) who responded to us in a very aggressive manner by making a snarky comment about our order, thus embarrassing greatly all the people at the table. Very nice location but the incompetence of the staff could only be suitable for a two-star hotel. We will definitely not go back there and considering the prices I do not recommend it.

My husband and I stayed here during our stay in Freiberg. The hotel's location is very nice among the trees with a great view of the old town below. There were many narrow streets on the way up to the hotel, but it's sp****ly populated up there so it wasn't a problem. We mostly came across hikers. The hotel staff was welcoming and the room was comfortable. The hotel could do with a bit of an update as it felt a little stale in design. It may have felt that way because the night before we had stayed in a hotel that was less than two years old. There were some trails nearby that we took advantage of with our dog. I wish we had stayed more than one night to truly enjoy the area.

This is a lovely, comfortable, and extremely quiet hotel on a hill on the outskirts of Freiburg. Both the elevation, the absence of sidewalks, and the distance mean you cannot practically speaking walk to town from the hotel -- but you can get there easily by car or, I suppose, mountain bike if you're a truly athletic type. And yet it's a lovely choice for those who want access both to Freiburg and also to the Black Forest. It was EXTREMELY quiet, in the best way -- the rooms next to mine were occupied, but I could not hear a single running faucet, television show, or conversation. I only knew I had neighbors when we stepped onto our adjoining balconies at the same time. The view over the city is beautiful. I woke up every morning to the sound of birdsong -- and there are a LOT of birds in the surrounding woods. I didn't have the breakfast, but based on a truly marvelous bowl of soup I had one night when I returned to the hotel hungry, I would guess the restaurant is wonderful.

My wife and I recently spent four nights at the Mercure Hotel Panorama in Freiburg-im-Breisgau, using it as base for visiting the Christmas markets in the area. It was a wonderful hotel, centrally located for touring France, Germany and Switzerland. From check-in until departure, our experience was excellent in all regards. Tobias at check-in was friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms, while not huge, are certainly spacious enough and well-appointed, and the bed was most comfortable. The hotel also boasts an indoor pool and sauna. I must also give kudos to Edward who, after I took a spill on some ice in the wee hours, was quick to render assistance, make sure I was okay, and got me back to my room. Thanks! The Mercure Hotel Panorama also boasts an excellent restaurant, Chez Eric, to be covered in a separate review. It gets an honorable mention in the Michelin guide, and that is justly deserved. We ate several meals there, and the food and service are top-notch. Did I mention that the hotel is pet-friendly? Our puppy was warmly received. When we head back in that direction, we will definitely book a room at the Mercure Hotel Panorama.
