Harbour Hotel Fowey

I'm not really sure where to start reviewing the Harbour Hotel in Fowey - part of me doesn't want to publicise how fantastic this place is! We really enjoyed our stay - we really didn't want to leave! The helpful and friendly staff (Karina on our last evening at dinner was particularly brilliant), excellent food (we had a cream tea, breakfasts and dinner) and a superb room with a stunning view over the bay. The hotel's position in Fowey is fantastic - allowing short walks to the centre, the harbour and walks - as well as having those jaw-dropping views from the bar/restaurant. Thank you for your hospitality and we'd love to come back and stay again!

If you want the best hotel to experience the beautiful Fowey, The Fowey Harbour Hotel is where you need to be. This was our 3rd trip here and everything was just as excellent as we remembered. The staff are incredibly professional but they are also so friendly, we had many laughs with several of them. Our room was just perfect with a view across the harbour, a couple of chairs out on the balcony to watch the constantly changing scenery - we did this a lot, comfortable chairs to do the same inside if the weather is misbehaving. The most comfortable bed, beautiful linen, sockets at bed height to charge your phones etc, a bathroom well supplied with shower gel etc. and we had a small separate sitting room with sofa which we used to store luggage so it wasn't cluttering up the main bedroom. As to eating and drinking, there is a lovely bar with spectacular views and the bartender mixes a very fine negroni. We then moved to the dining room eating in the hotel each night (3) choosing from the wide ranging but concise menu. Husband ate every type of fish on the menu, and I (not such a fishy person) ate chicken, asparagus, cheese soufflé with smoked haddock and ham terrine all followed by some beautiful desserts which we couldn't resist. Continental breakfast was included in our package with the choice to upgrade to a hot menu if wished, which we did on a couple of occasions. Again the food was brilliant, Husband's full English was certainly full, and I had the fluffiest, freshly made pancakes with bacon and maple syrup ( pancakes are often prepared ahead and just warmed up these weren't). The hotel is very organised, emailing to advise booking parking and a table if we wished to dine in. We had a phone call to check if we had any special requests or questions a few days before our trip, things it's easy to forget about sometimes. The 3 nights spent here really were perfect and this will most definitely be an annual trip for us.

The staff at the Harbour Hotel could not do enough for us! So happy and helpful. Extra special thank you to Receptionist Carley for going above and beyond. The rooms are exceptional as are the grounds and Fowey is a beautiful town with amazing bars and restaurants. We can't wait to come back.

I’ve just returned home after 3 nights at Fowey Harbour Hotel. And what a fab few days. My mother and I had a lovely room downstairs with a perfect view across the water. A lovely, comfortable and extremely spacious room. I can’t fault the food and the service, both were incredible. Really comfortable seating in the bar area. I have food allergies which we mentioned when we booked. Every member of staff knew about it and I never needed to remind anyone - amazing service! I can’t wait to go back - we’re already planning our next visit in May next year! Thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay. See you next year.

Thank you to the Fowey Harbour Hotel team for another lovely stay with you recently (Sun 29th June to Tues 1st July). We were down celebrating a birthday. As well as the usual lovely service from Carley, both Hannah and Evie were super lovely, friendly, professional and the Reception team are an absolute credit to Fowey Harbour Hotel. It was lovely to see Nick again who kindly gave us ice and lemon to enjoy the complimentary gin in the room. Billy and Kayleigh also provided good service in the Restaurant/Bar and the lunchtime cocktails made and served by them were delicious and refreshing. The Restaurant Managers on both days were also super friendly, professional and always provided service with a smile. We must also thank the Housekeeping team who work hard behind the scenes to prepare the bedrooms and do an excellent job as we always get the "wow" factor when we check into the rooms. Finally, the food prepared by Chef and the kitchen team is always good. We particularly enjoyed the light bites we had from the lunchtime bar (serrano ham croquettes, tempura vegetables and olive oil flatbread). We always feel warmly welcomed when we stay and the whole team play an excellent part in ensuring each stay we have with you super special. A great package for a Christmas getaway. Spacious bedroom, large bathroom, wonderful estuary and sea views. Good food and value-for-money all-round. And let’s not forget the staff and service. Almost top marks! There was even a Christmas card and gift waiting for us. Highly recommended from the woman known as Mrs Picky.
