Stayed 2 nights at the Moorings as we stayed there 14 years ago & loved it, not this time. Nobody at reception, ring bell, waited ages. Hazzard tape welcomes you upon arrival as the floor is wrecked. Old fashioned room but quite comfortable, went to make a cup of tea but the spoon wasn't clean (all hungry) so decided not to use the kettle etc but had the complimentary chocolate and shortbread. No sleep for creaky floorboards (ceiling and corridor) and you can hear other guests conversations plus outside as the walls are so thin. No shampoo/conditioner so had to buy some from the shop plus mould in bathroom & around window in bedroom. Went to the bar but soulless so didn't stay long. The room was cold but had a heater so that was comforting. All in all I wouldn't stay here again.

Absoloutly brilliant stay from arrrival to leaving...after an 8 hour drive we were very warmly welcomed by Raashi who was amazing and as all the team there so hard working, making the three day New Years Package work perfectly :) We had a fantastic room, comfy bed, nice and warm with a balcony and amazing views of Neptunes Staircase (you could jump in it from our balcony haha) and Ben Nevis. The food is great, the service is fantastic, the atmosphere was ace...people on holiday and locals. The New Year Gala was amazing...Raashi and her team really went out to make it special, live music and fantastic food :) All the guys were great and I couldn't get all their names, but a special shout out to Carolann who was run ragged but made sure the night went smoothly. A massive thanks to everyone at The Moorings for a memorable time (also celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary!) We will be back in the summer all going well :) xxx

My partner and I stayed one night Christmas Day. The hotel is in a lovely location right next door to Neptune's Staircase. It was free parking but not in the hotels car park. There is a public car park next to it but you may have to pay for it in peak season. All of the staff are Asian and friendly but not very informative or helpful. We didn't stay as part of their 4 day Festive Package break so we weren't treated the same as the other guests. We enquired about food to be told at 6pm there would be soup and sandwiches available. We went down to the bar at 6pm but they weren't ready so we waited . We didn't partake of the soup as it apparently was very spicy and we opted for 2 sandwiches and a pot of tea for 2 people. The sandwiches were on stale bread and we were charged £20 for the privilege!! The room itself was lovely with a nice bathroom and view of Neptune's Staircase. The large double bed however consisted of two single beds pushed together but was comfortable. The pillows were terrible though We had plenty of hot water and a full tea tray with plenty of tea,coffee and hot chocolate which was nice. The room was very clean but the hotel itself stunk of wet dog and one corridor reeked of stagnant blood. We will not stay here again

Went into the cafe after visiting Neptune’s Staircase. We had a coffee and a sandwich each. My wife said she thought that she was charged too much, so I queried it with the staff. No prices on the sandwiches, and charged £7 each! The staff were very disinterested and just told me that’s how much they were. As we were taking a break from a long drive we ate them, but felt really ripped off. The tray the coffees came on was filthy too. Location is great so feel like they are just exploiting that position.

First impression. The hotel foyer has hazard tape on the floor as the laminate flooring has gaps and uneven . The self check in did not work for us and later found several other guests had the same problem. The decor and general feel of the hotel is very tired worn carpets, chipped paintwork, worn out and damaged woodwork, torn seat coverings. Surfaces feel tacky to the touch. That is before we entered the room. Safety latch on the window broken . The bathroom extractor fan did not work (even after turning isolator on) black mould around bath, sink and toilet, Sink cracked. lamininate flooring cracked and when walking over the threshold screws protrud and cut my foot. The shower screen was at least 2cm away from the bath edge so when showering water cascades on the floor. One of bedside lamps and bathroom lights did not work . The chairs in the room were heavily stained. the Bed throw was torn in 2 places. No way on earth is this 4 Star , 2 at best hospitality needs serious work. for £200+ a night this is disgusting. Worst hotel I've ever experienced.

Hotel tired and needs updating. The staff are not bothered and there isn’t enough of them to go round. The man at bar was run off his feet. The waitress who served me was not helpful as I asked for no garlic mayo in my burger as I have allergies could I just have plain. She said they haven’t got plain but on the table there were packets of plain mayo. She said don’t have the coleslaw that comes with the burger as that has garlic in then asked me if I wanted coleslaw which didn’t have garlic in. I have allergies so it DOES matter to get it right. Service poor. She looked really cross when we didn’t tip. 🤔 Really ? The cost of the room is ridiculous I could get a nicer room in London for less money. Wouldn’t recommend

My husband and I finished the west highland way on Saturday 03/05/2025 we booked this hotel for 1 night, the staff were amazing, by the time we hobbled (sore feet!) to the hotel food had just stopped being served but the staff made sure that we got a lovely meal which we appreciated so much, we had a great sleep our room was amazing, shower amazing, coffee in our room was lovely we honestly cannot fault this hotel at all, so thanks to all the staff who do a great job and always smiling even when under pressure when restaurant was so busy we will definitely stay at the moorings hotel again

We stayed at the Moorings Hotel over Christmas and loved every moment of our holiday. Everything was festively decorated and it was clear staff had fun with making the place look like Christmas. The food was exceptional, the service fabulous and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room had a little living area with a sofa and large TV, which gave us a comfy place to pass the time on particularly rainy days.

Lovely hotel was lovely with Amazing surrounding views. The lady behind reception was so kind and helpfull to my mum when she was unwell. Self check in point if reception closed. The room was large with lovely beds. Left feeling well rested and ready for a long trip home.
