Chimpundu Lodge

We just returned from a fantastic trip to Uganda. Chimpundu lodge in the Kibale forest was our first stop. The rooms are individual cabins. Very large with a large balcony on three sides. The bathroom was huge as was the fantastic shower ( GREAT shower pressure!) We had a big comfy bed with a mosquito net over it. We had turndown service in the evening which we really like. The lodge has a beautiful very large deck overlooking the forest. All you could hear were the insects . So peaceful. I have never seen so many butterflies in one place. We had dinner overlooking the magnificent forest, Josef ( see below) set up a beautiful table for us. Decorated with flower petals. So lovely and so appreciated. Each cabin was connected by wooden walkways and stairways. Incidentally, we were the ONLY guests. Apparently it’s the most expensive lodge there.( according to our guide) It’s worth every penny. The staff really made the stay . I cannot praise Josef enough. He went far above and beyond taking care of us. He was like our own personal butler. Also he was a super nice person. He should get a promotion!! ( hint hint!) The other staff, also fantastic . Helpful , friendly, pleasant and just plain nice. We wish we had stayed longer than our two nights. The food.. outstanding. Unfortunately we were nervous about eating fruits and salads as we’d just arrived and we were not sure of the preparation ( ex; purified water to wash the veggies) however Mike tried them and he was fine. In hindsight I would have eaten them also. We didn’t get sick at all on this 12 day trip. Chimpundu lodge was the best lodge we stayed in Uganda. It was only a short drive to the chimpanzee trek also. I can’t say enough good things. Thank you to you all for making it so pleasant for us.

The staff was amazing. Doreen took great care of us. First class service. The lodge is gorgeous. Beautiful pool and spa. Our room was perfect with attentive service. Absolutely recommend coming here to anyone who wants top notch accommodation with charm and nature surrounding you.

Best customer care thanks to the entire staff. Tracy and Joseph did a great job. Great food, great ambiance and a great crowd. I’d recommend 10/10. I’d recommend full board that would include two extra meals after breakfast. Security is top notch.

Thank you Chimpundu for hosting our sister's birthday earlier this month of April. Thank you Gad for taking us on on such short notice and coordinating the surprise. We thank your staff for joyfully walking out with the cake at the end. My sister was greatly surprised because she has always loved this Lodge. I would like to also thank Joseph for taking us on a tour of the Lodge, taking our photos and teaching us a few tricks on taking better pics and recording better videos. Thank you Joseph. This was our second time coming here after the Lodge successfully hosting our Dad's 71st birthday.

We stayed with the family at Chimpundu Lodge last week during our visit to the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park. The location in the middle of the hills and bush is stunning, the staff very friendly and helpful. The really went out of their way to meet our needs. The luxurious cottages are very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend Chimpundu Lodge for your stay.

Great location. Very close to chimp treking centre. Staff were very welcoming. Gad was very quick to replace the missing batteries in the safe. Our rooms were deep in the forest, with plants and trees…and wildlife just next to our balcony..it was wonderful. It was quite a steep walk up to dinner/reception but that was good preparation for the treking. The rooms were big and beds were comfy. Food was tasty and portions big - too big for me but great for husband and sons! Ordering food was interesting and a possible area for improvement as any extras discussed sometimes did not arrive… that said Joseph and Doreen were extremely attentive and I can’t fault their enthusiasm.

Together with my uncle's family, we had a two night stay at Chimpundu. Leaving was the most difficult part. A relatively new lodge but my oh my. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Thank you Joseph, Doreen (Akiiki) and Judith for making our stay memorable. The attention to detail, the layout of the rooms, the simplicity yet exquisite designs all made our stay richer. We can't wait to come back. You are one of our preferred destinations in Uganda. Coming back is a must. Chimpundu is definitely a highlight in 2022. Chimpundu affirms our belief that there are amazing places in Uganda. The tourism industry just needs to make local tourism more affordable for Ugandans. What a great place to stay at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing! Truly, words cannot describe this lovely lodge. Beautifully constructed tree house with luxurious accommodations and amenities. The most amazing and welcoming staff. Private balconies with treetop views; hot showers and bathtub with all toiletries provided (including hair conditioner and body lotion - what?!?); in room coffee service; bottled water safe to drink in your room; bathrobes and slippers; laundry service; chocolates on your pillow at night. Need I say more? Come to this lodge. You won't want to leave.

Perched perfectly in the Kibale Forest, serene, quiet and beautiful. Great customer care too! Joseph and Doreen in the restaurant were amazing. Love the huge birthrooms too! Hot water was always available in the showers. The bath tub is quite the exciting part 🛁 Maurice ***** 10/10
