Chimpundu Lodge

Our stay at Chimpundu Lodge was outstanding—one we’d happily repeat. The room was a calm, well-appointed retreat with everything a traveler needs. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and beautifully made. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully designed, with a private porch we loved and a bathroom that felt both spacious and inviting. We didn’t have time to enjoy the large soaking tub—though it was tempting—but the shower was excellent. It was roomy, kept the water contained, and the handle was responsive and precise when adjusting the temperature. The water pressure was perfect, making it the best shower we’ve had in Uganda so far—15 days in. The WiFi was very reliable, both in the common areas and in our room, which was a welcome surprise. The common areas were warm and welcoming, with comfortable furnishings, local art, and plenty of natural light. The porch, with its beautifully set outdoor tables, was a perfect place for lunch or dinner. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive. They handled my food allergy with care, and the alternatives they provided were both thoughtful and delicious. And after our muddy chimpanzee trek, they even washed our shoes and socks for us—a small but incredibly appreciated gesture of hospitality. The pool was a bonus—clean, cool, and refreshing after a long day. We stayed here during our chimpanzee trek, and it couldn’t have been more perfect—comfortable, convenient, and memorable. Overall, Chimpundu delivered a high level of comfort, service, and style that made our stay truly enjoyable.

The lodge was spectacular! The food was amazing! The service impeccable! Joseph the head waiter was always ready for us at every meal! He prized himself on his service and the love of his lodge. This is a man who loves his job! He learned our preferences quickly and bent over backwards to make our stay special. The staff was amazing they were always working, always quick to clean our shoes after trekking, quick to bring us our favorite drinks and hot wash clothes and fresh juices at every entry! The rooms were out of this world. We had a two bedroom with our kids. The beds were fantastic and the balconies were special! I had the bar bring me a glass of wine and I sat on patio among a flock of butterflies while I listened to the forest noises! So peaceful and you can only see forest! Five star rooms!

An amazing experience at Chimpundu Lodge. The staff are very welcoming and professional, meals were great and the cottages are beautiful and spacious. You definitely get a chance to enjoy bird watching, the views of luscious greenery and ambiance from your balcony. Chimpundu is a piece of heaven in the heart of Fort Portal. Will definitely come visit again!

The place is a natural way to relax and reflect. Try it out. You won’t have any regrets. The nature, the greenery, the nature walks, the tweeting birds. So heavenly… garden of Eden in Uganda. The meals are so wonderful, the workers so courteous, the rooms so clean, don’t worry about internet… the best internet I have found in a hotel

We spent two wonderful days at Chimpmundu Lodge traveling south from Murchison Falls to Bwindi and stopped over to do chimpanzee trekking. The lodge is 3 minutes from the trekking point so incredibly convenient. The lodge is immaculate from the huge bedrooms with lovely bathrooms to the pool and steam room. Massages after the long trek were just a great way to relax. The staff are so helpful, accommodated every request from laundry, meal times, to scheduling massages and use of the facilities. Without asking they took our hiking boots and socks and cleaned them and they were spotless. The food was fresh, tasty and the menu nicely diversified and balanced. I would highly recommend a stay if I you are chimp trekking or just traveling from north to south Uganda. A warm and memorable experience…especially seeing the baboon walk happily into reception.

The experience was amazing , and the service too And not to forget about thr food it was nuts And the indian food was amazing and good Would recommend everyone to visit it once if ur around there. The Interior was amazing and the outdoor too with the detailing. I would love to see more food options for some vegetarian as myself
