Rolo Beach Hotel

The hotel has two seperate buildings.the one on the website was not the same place that they gave us.it was next to the main hotel and was run down.room was like a prison cell.you could barely sit on the toilet ,knees touching the wall.fridge was right next to bed.not what we expected.tried to charge 25 dollars extra for being 2 hours early for check- in after calling us and asking what time we were arriving.

Had a great time at Rolo. They have two buildings. One newly renovated and one not yet. We stayed in the newer one and it was absolutely perfect. About a 15 minute walk to the beach and all the restaurants in that area. The owner was fantastic. We will be back,

Great place!!! Small and cozy...Chris the manager goes above and beyond in all he did for us..I'm skeptical when i see a 10 star rating but Chris checks all the boxes..Its hard to believe he's not running a major operation because he has the skills to do it..He just knows how to talk to people..And thats 99 percent in the lodging industry....Cant wait to get back!!

First and foremost, the staff we encountered were incredibly nice and friendly. They stored our bags for us since we arrived too early to check in, and called when the room was ready, which was also earlier than normal. Sadly, the room was so intoxicated with chemicals from cleaning. In one hand, I appreciated the evidence of cleaning. On the other, it was alarming. My throat immediately reacted and my eyes began to burn. We tried to open the windows but they’ve taken all the keys that rotate them open so you can’t. The AC unit said the temp was 62. Per the temp device we had, it was 74. We tried to check the ac into and turn up the fan, but it was barely operational. So the room was hot, stuffy, and dealing with chemical. The walls were also beat up, and all the bar items (glasses, etc) were in the closet with cleaning supplies next to them. It was not good so we decided not to stay and booked elsewhere. I could not imagine sleeping in that room. The place has great reviews, and staff were so nice, but I had to put my own health and well being above that. They did offer to check another room, but I just didn’t want to deal with the risk of a chemical reaction elsewhere.

Parking is $10/night, no elevator but many units ground floor for arthritic knees. Pool was heated and deck had many chairs for seating. Super quiet neighborhood and a 10 minute walk to beach. Updated in modern fixtures for our king size bed, shower and seating area. Bar fridge and ice machine, Keurig coffee machine, cutlery for 2.

Place was 3 blocks from beach. Stayed in older building, room and bathroom was small. We were on 1st floor, could hear noises next door and upstairs. 2 bloks away was nice cafe" Archibald ", had my coffee and pastries there since there is no breakfast included.

I understand they are renovating the rooms etc. It was the best location for the price I could find. Room I was in needed some work. Particulary, room darkening window trea**ent.

Chris was really accommodating great spot stayed for a night before we hopped on a cruise -definitely recommend!!!
